Despite still having one more year of eligibility, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck declared for the NFL Draft on Saturday. That was also despite a rather up-and-down season for Beck, which has left many wondering where exactly his draft stock stands after entering this season with the expectation from many that he'd be one of the top signal-callers available in April.
Former ESPN Draft analyst Todd McShay is among those that feel Beck made the wrong decision foregoing his final year of eligibility. McShay even went on to reveal that one NFL scout told him when speaking about Beck that his decision was "foolish."
“Carson Beck made a bad decision to leave early. I texted a bunch of guys in the league, GMs, former GMs, scouts. One scout wrote back to me, one word answer — ‘foolish.’”
