I took a few things away from it.
We were certainly deeper and more talented in 21 and 22, there were just more bodies out there and layers that were big and fast and played smart. One thing that stood out was we just blocked and tackled better. Those teams also knew how to turn it up at the right time and hit another gear, they were visibly pissed that Tenn came in ranked #1 in 2022 and we were going to deny them.
We wasted some good backs last year with on again off again OL play. Injuries sure had a big thing to do with that as there were times that they played really well when we needed it and times when they just couldn't get the job done.
Lots of heart last year, but it was there to have to make up for poor play. The 21 and 22 teams had heart too but they were so good they used it to bury teams rather than just finding a way to win.
Beck could really spin the football but he sure had moments of complete and total mental lapse which was just horrible to watch.
Stetson had a really quick release and was so good on long balls, and his mobility was a special kind, he just knew how to dance and jig and made it look easy.
I dont think we appreciate the Tech win and the SEC Championship win like we should, those wins made the season and could have broken it. We carry a home winning record into this season that will get bigger before theres a chance for it to go down.
Its my hope that we have a team that is extremely hungry this year, yes they will be young and lack some experience but they may just be hungry again and that will help a lot, I am not sure how hungry last years team was.
