We have played good and bad, elite and totally inept… Carson has rented out an entire struggle bus to joy ride. Every game a different position group has struggled or dominated. We have been decimated by injuries since week 1 and haven’t had a full deck since fall camp. Our WR are just simply not on the same page with Beck seemingly at any point so far, but also Arian Smith is somehow our best weapon. We’ve had 2 WR kicked off the team.
You look at all of that and honestly I just have to laugh, because we are 7-1, tied for first in the SEC, ranked #2 in the country, with our only loss being to Alabama (when will it end?). Oh yeah, and we just casually have one of the toughest schedules in the entire country - wire to wire, but we just keep winning. It doesn’t make sense how we keep pulling these games out, but we do. If nothing else, this team has some FIGHT in it, and because of that, I’ll not count out this Georgia team yet.
On Carson Beck. I still love the guy. He has struggled more than anyone I can remember in my years of watching Georgia football. He has single handedly almost lost us 4 games at minimum, but somehow, at the same time he’s been part of the reason we didn’t lose those games. He’s the epitome of what you want in a Georgia QB: sat and waited, understanding he needed to get better. He supported Stet, helped the team, and watched us win 2 titles from the sideline. He knows he didn’t play well enough last year to get us where we should have been, and this year he’s pressing.
I still believe he’s got all the tools to get us back to the top of the mountain. There’s not a team I really fear in CFB right now. If, somehow, we can start clicking LITERALLY at any point, we can get it done.
I’m riding or dying with CB15. This team is not out of anything. And we have the pieces to get it done, though I wish we had a few more… but I’m still Go Dawgs, baby, despite how hard it’s been to watch us up to this point.
