Not to toot my own horn, but toot toot. I’ve been saying this was going to be a problem since the initial proposal came out. You’re going to have times when the fifth ranked team in the CFP12 is the second best team in the country meaning the number one ranked team will play arguably their stiffest competition in the semifinals.
I don’t really agree with the four conference champions getting a bye, but whatever. If that is going to be the case they need to play the first round then have the CFP playoff seed teams from there. If Georgia beats a one loss Texas in the SEC title game then a reseeding will probably have them at 2 or 3 after the first round assuming they win.
The system doesn’t help the number one seed like it should.
