What do we make of the Georgia representative who was arrested for trying to enter the General Assembly?

I've read two articles on it and still don't understand why he was banned. That being said, once the doorman bars you, trying to physically push past is/ was a bad idea. (he got shoved to the ground like a girl and arrested).

He claimed to the cameras that it was a constitutional violation (he may be right?) but touching another person physically is always a bad idea.

He was ordered by the speaker not to be there. Reminder via letter yesterday. He FAFO in my opinion...

He disparaged late speaker Ralston. Was asked to apologize. Hasn't done so.

I mean, are we really banning people from the general assembly because they said something mean? Lol Give me a break. Colton may not have handled it correctly, but it’s a little childish to ban him as well.
I don’t really know how people expected Colton to handle being unfairly barred from entry to the General Assembly his constituents voted him into.

I mean it would be different if he walked carrying a saber and challenging the speaker to a duel but if the house tried to ban my representative from doing the job I voted for him to do I think I’d want my representative raising hell about the whole thing.

I'm pretty sure NW GA didn't hire moore to go talk shit about a dead man at said dead man's memorial service... If front of said dead man's family. Time and a place...and he picked the wrong one.

Also, he's a senator, correct? And it's the speaker of the house that banned him from the GA, correct? So... He's not barred from doing the work people hired him to do. He's barred from the GA... which last I checked is not where he works. In there he is only a spectator.

He is reaping what he sowed....

True….I don’t disagree

That's what I don't understand. I can't find any thorough articles on what happened. He posted something on Twitter and that got him barred? I feel like I'm missing something.

Regardless, if you are formally barred, and he was, trying to bumrush cops is the wrong idea. particularly if you're not tough.

It started here:

The only reason he was arrested is because he didn't comply. He may have an argument about being arrested but that's for him to resolve. He was reminded of his barring, met with burns prior and couldn't come to a resolution, yet still tried to bum rush his way in.

He is responsible for his actions. No one else.

Yep. More grown men who think actions have no consequences.

The problem of modern politics is the fact that we don't call out crooks in power. Ralston abused his power for personal gain, and for the bidding of bad people.

In a better world, it would be an insult to the people of Georgia to treat the man as a figure of reverence.

Refused a lawful order. Get what he gets.

Moore called out a dead man....at the man's memorial...in front of his family. A POS move if you ask me. The majority of lawmakers agree with me.

In a better world, Moore would have STFU at the memorial and he'd be allowed to enter the GA chambers.

The problem with modern politics is there's no politics. It's all for show. It's who can get traction on Twitter.

The majority of lawmakers are complicit in accepting the behavior of Ralston, and that's the problem. Again, the man whored out his position as Speaker of the House to benefit his legal practice, which included keeping child molesters out of jail.

The facts of this case are not even in dispute. He did it. Everyone knows he did it.

Yet he was still honored as a respected statesmen, because we have no standards for those elected to office.

THAT should be the scandal.

Now was Moore's behavior tacky? Sure. Was it self-agrandizing? Yes. It's still politics.

But in a sane world, the sin of honoring Ralston would be considered far more severe than the sin of breaking decorum.
