prez has floated the idea that if you draw social security and are impaired , for example having trouble balancing your check book , you should not own a firearm . they are always looking for a way to chip away at gun ownership . he has stated in the past that he doesn't want to take your guns , but you know how " he evolves " !

how about anyone on welfare being added to that list?

Because we all know that most violent crimes are committed by older citizens receiving social security.

Illegals running amok in our country pose no real threat. They are just trying to live a better life. So even though more people die on our roads driving cars, it is essential that we remove the guns from older, impaired citizens.

Gun control does nothing to lower the number of violent crimes in a welfare state, which we are.

So again, removing guns from honest citizens is really a step forward.............................................

I'm all for responsible gun ownership screening and verifiable registration as well a required training on proper and safe usage, but taking guns from old people, which in many cases is the only protection they have, is not a good place to start. Old folks, are easily the most preferred target of con artists as well as thieves who have no qualms about silencing helpless "witnesses" at the site. NOT a good place to start. How about taking all the guns (every one) away from the criminals (repeat offenders at least), mentally ill, and non-citizens BEFORE disarming our elderly citizens, who have EARNED (the right way aka paying taxes and staying out of trouble) their rights and privileges.

A progressive/lib realizes the gun control battle is a marathon and not a sprint. It seems they are seeking an easy way into it. Start with the old and then progress into more difficult controls later. Chipping away is correct, but right now they are seeking a starting point. That said, a logical person would start with the criminals, etc.
