What went wrong on that KO return?

What did ND do that opened it up so much that only 1-2 guys even came close to touching the returner? I never saw an overhead review exposing the scheme.

Freeman apparently spends a lot of time w/his special teams. Did we fall pray to a good return setup, over pursue or simply got caught off guard by somebody actually electing to return the ball?

Any analysis on what went wrong?
