I could see a perspective (a UK perspective) where it might look like running up the score, but I actually thought it was sportsmanlike--a FG is a sure 3 more points there, where having your guy go from the--what? 6, 7? was no sure thing at all. It's like saying, hey, you stop this and the scoring is over.
