My dad, brother, and I went to the basketball game tonight, before heading to Athens for the game tomorrow. Got tickets in Section 107, which somehow got us into the club. Enjoyed free beverages and food until halftime when I went to use the bathroom. I heard a GT fan a few urinals over say something along the lines of "P***y MF". I was the only Dawg fan in the bathroom at the time. I simply asked him "Are you talking to me?". He responded "Get out of my face" from several feet away. I said "I'm not in your face". He walked up to me and said get out of my face again. I again responded that I'm not in your face, and asked what his problem was. He then knocked the beer out of my hand, and shoved me.
I like to think I'm a rational human being. But the second he shoved me, I put him into the ground. I was holding him down and telling him to just stop and that I was just trying to enjoy this basketball game with my family. I realized he may have been injured, got up and exited the bathroom. His ankle may have snapped and he had to go to straight the hospital. He claimed that he "slipped and fell" when questioned by the police, I'm assuming because he knew how much of a fool he just acted. I was also questioned by the police, released, but not allowed back into the arena for the rest of the game. They got my name and stuff from my driver's license and said that I will be arrested if I show up on campus again over the next couple of years.
I'm not a fighter. Haven't been a real fight outside of football practice since grade school. But this was a truly insane experience. I guess I ended up better than the other guy, I didn't throw any punches or anything but he snapped his ankle acting like an absolute clown. Had a couple of GT fans that were witnesses in the bathroom, but the police would not let me go back into the arena to find the witnesses that corroborated my side of the story. The campus/GT police did absolutely nothing and acted like I was just as in the wrong as the clown that started the whole mess. I tried to at least get a police report filed to clear any official wrongdoing on my end in case this moron changed his mind, but Atlanta police never showed up. Law Dawgs please chime in if I should do anything further.
Somewhat harrowing experience, but man... I feel like the Lord sent me this personal challenge tonight just so we can witness an absolute shelling tomorrow. Dawgs by MANY pts.
