To my knowledge Wilson hasn't selected a transfer destination, so does this mean he is using the portal as a ploy to get more NIL from Georgia? If so, is it dangerous to reward players for doing that? We have been led to believe that Georgia fairly compensates it's older players, but let's face it, there are always going to be schools that will pay more. If Georgia caves in and ups it's NIL money for Wilson, why wouldn't every other valued player do the same thing. This leads to seasonal situation of every starting player threatening to bolt if they don't get a pay increase. I didn't mind paying Beck last year because I believed it was the NFL or Georgia, not another college team. Regardless of his reasoning for leaving this year- girlfriend, concerns with our coaches, receivers, people saying mean things on the internet, I am glad he is not coming back. Miami is supposedly doubling his NIL to 4 million, which he is not worth, but it would have also set the precedent of players shopping around the college ranks for better NIL money and then using that for negotiating leverage.
