Always thought Coffee County named after John Coffee hero of Big Bend
and battle New Orleans. But it turns out county named after John E Coffee, just a state representative.

He practically lived with some kin of mine down there while he was in High school. UGA grads and Pulpwood played sports with their sons. Helped steer him towards Georgia, Shoulda probably steered him to AU but they couldn't do that. Sons were real high achievers, one or both went to naval academy, I believe, for undergrad. Neither went to Georgia for undergrad. Might could have helped keep him straight if they did, but Athens is sin city. so probably not.
