I am a Democrat. My grandfather and mother were from Arkansas. I was taught young to handle firearms and hunt. I was also taught to love my country. I was told that being a Democrat was supporting my country. I hope my grandfather would approve of my life.

I was asked by my local draft board to enter the Army in 1968. I was 4A and I did. I was trained at Leonardwood and Rucker. I was a UH1 Repairman. I tell people I am a democrat, I lean liberal but I support gun rights and all of the Constitution. I encouraged my son to join the Army. He knows my political views. Some have said you don't sound like a democrat, but I am.

All three of my mothers children were drafted for this war. My younger brother was a medic. He is so much farther left than we argue sometimes. But I am proud of him. He is about to retire from a hospital and his daughter is an MD.

I don't know how to explain how much I love America and hate communism more than this.

It was the best of times, yet the worst of times. Maybe that is the way it always is. I am happy you made it home safe. And thank you for your service and sacrifice.

I loved growing up in the 50s and 60s. Great times, the best drug was cheap beer; we had hot cars, the girls were fun to chase, Friday Night Football and great tunes to sooth our souls. Someone asked what about all those hippies and drugs. I just laugh, in small town Kansas, not much chance of that. I cannot believe I was once that young. I go back each year for our class reunion. Next year is number 50.

I am coming to Georgia in a couple of days. I am going to take my grandchildren trick or treating, and I am going to teach them to fish. Never thought I would be doing that in Georgia. The people there are great, they call me Mr. I tried to stop that but one of the ladies took me aside and said just let them do it, its how we were taught down here to respect our elders. What class.

Name a liberal who has said that. Sanders pointed out accurately ( in 1985) that The Castro Government at least educated kids and supplied adequate health care, but it was in context to a point that also was very critical of the human rights violations there.

I'm not so sure about that. I would have never thought Florida's 9th district would have elected one of the most divisive and dishonest persons I've ever encountered- Alan Grayson, multiple times. If ole Alan can do it then I have no doubt fatty fat fat Michael Moore could win there.

I was for health care reform, many republicans have been for it as well. The Mormon Mannequin passed the template for ''Obama Care'' in Mass when he was governor.
To equate HC reform with communist Cuba is beyond absurd.

It's My opinion single payer would be the only sensible insurance system. We are competing against a World filled with single payer nations and We end up paying the lion's share of industry profits because we want to pretend there is an open market place, there isn't. Everybody else negotiates prices while our Congress is bought and paid for by healthcare businesses to allow them to make all their money off of Us. That fact should be among the most important in the minds of Americans, but divide and conquer has always been an effective tool to dupe the masses.
