Today marks the beginning of a couple of weeks of camps that Georgia will host. Literally, prospects from all over the world are going to be descending upon Athens to try and grab the attention of the Georgia Bulldog coaching staff.

There are 32 prospects from Europe, 21 affiliated with NFL Academy. NFL Academy is directed by former Georgia Bulldog wide receiver Kris Durham. The biggest of those names is Daniel Akinkunmi. Expect the measurable from camp to be impressive. Long arms, 11-inch hands. He is a guy that Georgia is taking a hard look at. This is Akinkunmi's second visit to Georgia. Durham told Tavarres King, Knowshon Moreno, and I recently that Akinkunmi's mother used to send him with food and a portable microwave on a 2-hour train ride (one-way) every day to NFL Academy so that he could play the game and work on his craft. 4 hours on a train every day. Would you do that to play football?

Here are the confirmed visitors we have arriving in Athens either today or tomorrow (6/1)

The most coveted quarterback in the Class of 2026 will spend two days up close and personal with Mike Bobo and the Georgia staff today and tomorrow. Story below.

The No. 1 overall prospect in 2025 will be in town June 1

Georgia commit

Ohio State commit

Big priority in 2025 for Searels and UGA

Have to think Penn State hates Georgia's guts by now. This visit won't help those feelings

Extremely talented running back that Dell McGee and Georgia are working to keep in-state. Kromah is a 'one-cut & get North' type of back. Brings the wood when a defender gets in his way also.

Recently got an offer from West Virginia. 2730 Rush Yards and 43 TDs as a sophomore at Northeast (Macon).

Jerrian Graham - Class of 2024 WR - 6-foot-2, 190 - 5A State Champion 100m - 10.69

Christian Langford - Former East Coweta QB (2025), Now at Buford

JED MAY'S NOTES

Robinson had originally planned for his Georgia official visit to be in December or during the season. It will now take place this weekend.

Is this a reason to be concerned? I wouldn’t say so. There has been no indication that Robinson is on flip watch. He told UGASports he just wanted to be in town with some other top prospects, including good friend Peyton Woodyard.

But it is noteworthy that Georgia is no longer guaranteed the last shot at Robinson. Miami will receive an official visit from him next weekend, and others are pushing hard for him as well.

Georgia is still in strong shape with Robinson and I would still bet good money on him signing. But his recruitment does get at least a tick more interesting with the OV move.

Calhoun is a behemoth. Seeing him in person makes it easy to see why he’s target number one along the offensive front.

I believe this is and always has been a Georgia-Alabama battle at the end of the day. Tennessee, Texas, and others have provided worthy challenges, but I think those two are the true finalists.

On that front, I believe Georgia sits in the best position with Calhoun at this point. He has been a priority for years, Stacy Searels has built a strong relationship during his time in Athens, and Georgia offers the dual benefit of being developed while also playing close to home.

As for his potential future, it’s still up in the air whether Calhoun plays guard or tackle. His current size projects toward guard, but he could end up at tackle if he slims up a bit. Either way, he would be a huge cornerstone of this class should be indeed commit to Georgia. This weekend could go a long way in securing his commitment.

Here’s all you need to know about Scott’s interest in Georgia. The Bulldogs are serious contenders despite the fact that the No. 1 defensive tackle in the class has never stepped foot on campus.

Tray Scott did a tremendous job in both getting Georgia’s foot in the door and then firmly keeping it there. From regular conversations to a FaceTime during bowling on Scavenger Hunt weekend, Georgia’s defensive line coach has built a fast bond with the prospect he calls his “long-lost cousin.”

This weekend is Georgia’s big shot in this thing. Scott wants to see the campus, obviously, but as a first-time visitor the Bulldogs will also need to showcase the atmosphere around the program.

That’s a lot to accomplish in one weekend. But Georgia, as we know, has done a great job with these one-shot type of visits. Marvin Jones in the Class of 2022 is a great example. We’ll see if it works with Scott as well as Georgia battles Miami, Ohio State, Michigan, and Notre Dame.

Carr told me in person a couple weeks ago that he never had any serious interest in Florida State. Talking to some other folks in the network, it seems there was a little bit more to those rumors than Carr suggested. Either way, Carr seems to be firmly locked in with the Bulldogs more than ever in the war of Dylan Raiola’s commitment.

Even before that though, Carr had been doing some work behind the scenes. He speaks with Daniel Calhoun often for one. Carr’s personality lends itself perfectly to being a recruiter, and he’s embracing that role more and more heading into the summer.

Another thing? He’s not afraid of the competition in Athens. In fact, none of the three current receiver commits are. Carr will be instrumental if the Bulldogs are to land one of Mike Matthews, Jeremiah Smith, or Ryan Wingo.
