Have a while to go until retirement (10-15 years) but we have started thinking of buying land well in advance. Was searching in the vicinity of Athens. In a search to find a lake and golf I came across Savannah Lakes Village around Lake Thurmond. Looks to be about 70 miles from Athens. Little further than we want but being on the lake with the golf courses is enticing. The vent always comes through with tons of good info. Anyone live there or know much about the area? Lots still seem very reasonable as opposed to Hartwell and Oconee.
