USA sure seems hell-bent on entering WW3 by any means necessary

And yet you think the answer to this problem (Putins of the world running over other countries because of weak US leadership) is to be weak and let Putin just gobble up whatever he wants?

This confuses me...
So what’s your solution? Send in U.S. troops to defend every nation that was part of the former Soviet Union? You don’t seriously believe just sending more and more money and a few tanks will win the war do you? But then again there is no strategy to win. For all the tough talk there’s no willingness for any of you to sacrifice yourselves or your children defending Ukraine nor should there be. Heck most of western Europe has only offered token support. If they don’t think Putin is a threat to Western Europe how is it in the national interest of the U.S. Nobody appointed us the policemen of the world. To defend the borders of every country and to interject ourselves into every conflict. Damn……..Vietnam and 50,000 + lost lives for absolutely nothing should have taught us that.

I support helping Ukraine like we are currently doing. Sending actual troops on the ground is a step to far for me.
The Vietnam analogy is a good one IMO. Remember that time well, the nation was even more divided than today.
In the end, it was all for nothing.

Republican Party? Heck this is Biden and Obama’s war. They orchestrated the events which have led up to this point. The Democrats seem eager to fund it even when we’re 31 trillion in debt. Never realized what war mongers these liberals were. But somebody gets rich with all the blood money. Certain U.S. money interests are already trying to figure ways to cash in to rebuild Ukraine once the shooting stops. Republicans aren’t in charge of anything, but it is worth noting Putin didn’t invade Ukraine when Trump was in office.
Why would Putin invade Ukraine while Trump was in office? By many accounts Trump was considering pulling the US out of Nato. He was doing exactly what Putin wanted. It would have been stupid to do anything at that time.

BTW, a majority of Democrats and Republicans support helping Ukraine. Unless you're riding on the Marjorie Taylor Greene nut job train.

I heard a good analogy the other day. When the male lion is bloody, limping, and weak after a fight all the jackals, hyenas, other rival lions, and vultures take notice.

America is very weak perception-wise right now because of leadership, culture war, political division, and terrible supply conditions. The jackals and hyenas are doing stuff they wouldn't if the lion was at full strength and hungry.

The issues are much deeper than just the president but our current leadership is very weak
The fact is that our used to be great country no carries the big stick so no one is afraid of us. If you carry the big stick No one messes with you.

Man, your response really went all over the place.

You do remember Russia was supposed to conquer Ukraine in days, right? The only thing that stopped that was Western aid and Ukraine fighting like damn Viking warriors.

I do not want to antagonize you so will leave it at that because honestly struggling to know how to unpack the rest of that and not come across the wrong way except to say this:

Russia is wrong. Russia violated an agreement signed with the US and UK not to do this to Ukraine and which US has and must continue to honor. Putin has said and taken clear steps he will continue on into NATO allies if he doesn't fail in Ukraine.

Helping him fail makes very good sense *without* putting US troops on the ground.

Putin has exploited every perceived weakness since he took power to expand Russian domination in every direction.

People forget this all started in 2004 when Ukraine dared elect a presidential candidate who would not bend the knee to Moscow (not 2014 or 2022 or after anything related to NATO). Yuschenko.

What did Putin do? Tried to poison the SOB to death.

Again, no one was even breathing about Ukraine being in NATO. That discussion happened *because of what Putin was doing* not because NATO provoked Putin to do things like this.

I agree with you 100 percent. As long as we can aid Ukraine without putting US troops on the ground I'm all for it. And we are not alone. The entire free world is united against Russia. This will be a painful lesson for Putin. The way Ukrainians have fought for their freedom is nothing short of amazing.
