For any age or identity of us yearning to be understood, we must first make a conscious effort to understand those among us who are older, younger or just different. Not thst hard of an assignment. This is the basis of the old DIY personal success guide, “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” EZ PZ.
“All there is to it is to do it,” as much of our sales & marketing follows. And most of us know this already. So…..
Why can’t we stop it with slamming any demographic’s “when life was grand.” We ALL claim one. All of us except those who choose to be incurably afflicted with the HOA virus or its twin, “my memories are more truthful than yours.”
Can’t we all (or at least MOST of us) start seeking functional, realistic & sustainable solutions together (family, neighborhood, community) to our common (most enduring) problems instead of making excuses & casting blame (neither ever positive or productive). And let us recognize that our elected leadership (regardless of stripe) has failed to achieve any success in the solutions arena except for honing their skills of blaming each other as they encourage us to do the same.
Wake Up! Get Involved. Believe the results you SEE, not what your wishes, hopes & dreams tell you. Wake up!! Woke is a forever snooze button, as effective as a bumper sticker in the grand scheme.
