I just got finished watching Twisters. Does anyone remember the F4 (some measured strong F3) tornado on March 31, 1973 in Athens? I was 5 years old and lived on Huntington Rd where Georgia Square Mall would eventually be built. I remember, being behind the sofa (as we had no basement) as the tornado ripped through our neighborhood (destroying many homes on our street). I remember the train sound and being scared to death. My Dad was an instructor at UGA Air Force ROTC and had just returned from Vietnam.
