Nice work by Geddy Lee. RIP Chris Squire.

Went to see Yes at the Omni on that rotating round stage 40+ years ago. Whole place reeked of pot. Each member of the band got a feature, and Squire played the longest bass solo I've ever heard.
I was at that one. I guess I’m the one who stank the place up. Steve Howe is an incredible guitarist. This is a really nice piece on a Martin D-45.

I saw Yes in the Boston Garden for “Middle Earth” tour around ‘72. They had a set with rocks (fake of course), the drummer sat in a little raised hut, and Wakeman was also elevated on the right side. There was a giant mushroom, with a giant toad off to the left, I guess made of fiberglass. As they played, strobes fired off from the rocks, and the toad came to life with lights, his eye rolled, and I think his tongue extended. Then about halfway through the giant mushroom started to light up, and move upward, and open. We were wrecked of course, and most impressed. Pretty sure that they recorded YesSongs on this tour. I can’t remember who I went with, it must have been the guys I hung out with at that time, I don’t remember if I took a date, I can’t remember if they had a warmup band. I do remember the house lights coming on near the start of the show, and the Boston Police coming out and they arrested an entire floor section of people and hauled them away. It was a hopeless gesture. We were so stoned, the whole crowd was stoned. I had to hold on to my chair, I felt, to keep from falling out of the very steep balcony in that old place.. What a great night!
