Any other federal employees get the "5 bullets"

You all are missing the big picture. The life long politicians, i.e. biden, mcconnell, pelosi, are the ones to blame. The attacks Trump/Musk are getting are comparable to being mad at the fireman when he walks through your recently burnt out house. Who would be mad about that??? The arsonist.

The fact is all the crooked politicians have used these agencies to fund agendas/pet projects/buddies. They have bloated the work force. They have diverted US AID employees from helping feed Africans to helping making Africans LGBTQ aware. They used these agencies as shields for their agenda. They honestly felt no one would ever hold US AID budgets in account. They used all of these agencies. Yes, there are innocents getting caught in the cross fire. I hate that for them but don't blame fire fighters in this one.

You think too many federal employees were hired under Biden? More federal employees were employed during the 50s (almost as many), 60s, 70s, 80s, & 90s than exist today.

There are a lot more Americans today than during 50s & 60s yet the federal workforce has not grown in accordance to our population
Pretty sure that Clinton shrunk it, around 400K I believe. What Trump is doing is nothing unusual, have been there before.

Email yet from OPM demanding everyone provide a list of 5 accomplishments from last week. Failure to respond will be viewed as resignation.

Musk said it's going out to all federal employees this weekend. I got mine an hour ago.
CHATGPT says....I did the following

But Clinton did it with overwhelming approval from the house & Senate. Thus far, Trump has not even tried to involve Congress in any of this
Also, unless my numbers are wrong, I believe the total budget was missed by almost 2 trillion a year ago….the budget was almost 7 trillion.

How would you propose to balance it??

The most expensive programs are Social Security, Medicare, the Defense Department plus the interest payments on the national debt.

Raise the debt ceiling??

I for one am tired of kicking the can down the road.

Our grand children and our great grandchildren will get stuck with paying for this mess! That’s what makes it so hard.

If there is a country left.

Trump and team are not facing any easy decisions. One thing for certain to me, is that it can’t keep going in the same direction.

Pretty sure most folks don’t want to default. More about future survival to me than politics.

In that thread most had great personal sympathy for you, but still supported DOGE. Don't know how that is toxic.

The reality is that you worked for a particularly bad government. History is usually not kind to those that do. It is absolutely true that a bureaucrat for some civilian office in 1930s Germany or the Soviet Union is far detached from the atrocities committed by that regime, but they were also unlikely to get much sympathy when sharing the challenges that came with unemployment.
You are correct. A lot of them did. But some didn’t.

I guess I shouldn’t lump everyone into one category. Much like all federal employees, especially probationary ones being labeled as “poor performers “. Wouldn’t you say?

I don't know if this is relevant for you or not. Hope so.

The assumption there is an “AI” program that magically can run through all these emails without a substantial platform to actually name is telling. Nobody really knows how this will work because DOGE doesn’t even know how it’ll work. Just unlawfully cutting jobs blindly and acting like they’ve accomplished something. Mind you these same jobs are having to be reinstated because the DOGE has literally no constitutional authority. Just dumb.

That’s good. But Biden did go on a hiring spree for fed jobs. Helped boost the employment polls but nobody cared to report what percentage of workers were hired by Biden corrupt govt.

Probably a lot more federal employees in the past were military, if that’s even correct. I don’t know.
Don’t care. All I know is that the fewer we have now, the effffing better!

The federal workforce only represents like 8% of the federal budget. At most Trump will only eliminate like 3% all while costing untold lost jobs. He will also go down as the president to have laid off the most veterans of any president in history

There is so much in the federal budget to cut. Eliminating jobs is such small cents for the political backlash he & the GOP deserves if/when he lays off half the federal workforce. I voted for Trump & I'm disgusted the way he's handling this.

His imagination
Read the thread. Just because you don't like what I'm saying doesn't negate its validity. Also, please see below for the source of the AI program that is supposedly filtering through the million emails DOGE is receiving. Furthermore, DOGE is finally hitting the inevitable wall, where most government institutions that require security clearances are scrutinizing the volunteer workforce's supposed authority. Musk was not voted into any position of authority, and as a consultant—aside from being an advisor to the President—he actually doesn't have much power. The protocols required to do these things correctly have been mocked, leaving the public support they receive open to ridicule. In conclusion, it's all a show, and they can't even do what they're trying to do efficiently or legally.

Meh, a bunch of Karens iyam.
Military “Sitrep” - if you can’t do this you are gonna get busted.

This is a logical and straightforward way to:
1) See if there is a real person at the other end of the email.
2) See if the email is canned and matches other responses.
3) Find out people who are “lollygaggers” .
4) Find out who is a team player and will show up and with attention for details.
5) Give a pass to shadow employees that are clever enough and insidious enough to “Fake It” through such a facile ask.

DOD, FBI, other agency leadership told employees not to respond. Basically fu to doge

Those are the ones that are already getting oversight, have professionals, and the message came down to not respond.
Likely what it was really saying is “unlike other agencies whose ranks are not filled with professionals, we know who you are and what you are doing - so ignore this request.”

This is a perfect example of how to run a successful business. Initially, evaluate and cut anyone who even seems like they may not be “all in” or valuable to the company . Then, knowing you are understaffed, rehire at a lower rate to eliminate needless positions and place those that you hand pick into the other positions. It happens every day in corporate America.
For those getting these emails, I feel for you because I’m sure it’s a royal pain in the ass. But persevere and show your worth. There’s usually a reward on the other side of all this turmoil for those that survive. Good luck to you guys.
Lol. 5 bullet points sent to someone who have no idea about your day to day tasks or current/future projects is practically useless if you want to judge employees' worths. It is more like a 5th grade assignment, lol.

Accountability is great. There are correct ways to access productivity and downsize. What's going on is simply political theater. Political theatre is for the consumption of people that lap it up because they don't know better or are more concerned with winning than their country.

I thought the FBI was the one of, if not, the most corrupt agencies in the government? It's been fixed in a little over a month without a new director?

It is shockingly elementary for our federal government to request something that demands such minimal competence from functioning adults. People assume ineptitude and inability with disdain and disgust. This is how the federal workforce feels toward those who mistakenly believe that all federal employees are incompetent. There has been little, if any, factual basis for actual improvements in our budget resulting from these cuts. Finally, for those fixated on this checklist, several federal employees in my family have been submitting daily and weekly checklists to their bosses for years in the DOD. So let's not act as if this is some groundbreaking gotcha from Musk.
