Another example from 2009 that shows, again, that many on the Right did not want too work with this President, for whatever reason.... but now it's a good idea. Hypocrites.
Sadly. That’s politics now. Both sides are so concerned with power, they refuse to work together. I truly think Dems want Trump to fail even if it drags the country down with him.

Work with him on what. As DJT has shown twice now, the laws are in place to secure the border. What O wanted to do was give the 11 or so million already in the country legal status which he eventually did with his DACA decree.
I should also add that O didn't need to work with Pubs during his first 2 yrs. He had the house and a near filibuster proof majority in the senate and would have certainly been able to pick up a couple of the rinos had he been serious about signing a new immigration law.
The real story is immigration reform is something chat libs and center right Pubs could fix in a matter of a couple of weeks. Both sides of the aisle have been playing their games while refusing to enforce duly passed immigration law for almost a half a century. Yeah, there's hypocrisy but it's on both sides of the aisle and a big reason why DJT was able to get political traction in the first place.
Trump now wants Illegal immigrants to be able to to working status. Isn't this amnesty?

Could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure Trump's position has always been that illegals have to leave but can return after doing it the correct way. So I guess you could argue that is a form of amnesty but if your goal is an orderly immigration process and knowing who and how many are in your country as well as not being a drain, it's a better path forward than any other we've seen over the last half century.Trump now wants Illegal immigrants to be able to to working status. It is infuriating. The left wants open borders for the votes and the right wants cheap labor. Neither party was willing to do anything to stop the flow. Rather than locking down the border and increasing the amount of legal immigrants we bring in they continue the flow of illegals. Putting the immigrants at risk or rape, murder, trafficking... Empowering the cartels and destroying Mexico. Over half the states of Mexico are controlled by the cartels. Mexico is a narco-state. 100s of thousand of children missing. 100s of thousands of Americans dead from drugs. Glad to see your getting on the Trump train to stop this mess.

It was the position they voted for and I'm pretty sure the base has no problem bringing in needed workers but just don't want illegals being pushed to the front of the line for naturalization.
What needs to be done? Dont say reform the system, what exactly? Just enforce the laws on the books plain and simple. Just say they can stay but no benefits and cannot vote..
Have several IT friends from India that have been here on H1Bs for over a decade that have applied for citizenship the correct & legal way that have not yet been approved for citizenship.
