Question: is this the best case study on how inflation truly affects the electorate when the rubber meets the road and they vote?
Inflation is a tax on everyone and it doesn’t distinguish between race, etc. In fact it disproportionately affects minorities and working class voters typically associated with coming home for democrats. We are seeing evidence of this with labor unions, black and Hispanic males in particular, etc.
If I am a Harris supporter I need to see national polling at least 6 pts ahead of Trump if not more. And my fear is that the college educated / wealthy folks who are voting on principal against trump, and are incredibly enthusiastic, are disproportionately clustered in places like NYC, LA, and DC - pushing her general election polling / votes but doing less for her in the electoral college.
Reagan received 489 electoral votes in 1980……
