Democrats have zero ideas that work Americans but man they can sure obstruct good ideas that work with their activists in robes

They can always rely on a leftist judge to screw over Americans.
Take comfort in the fact that truly bullshit rulings will be overturned. Ultimately so long as truly bullshit spending is exposed, the politics and the law will be in Trump’s favor. Transparency is key. And X provides a transparency we haven’t seen in a long time.

And your complete lack of empathy for my possible termination is staggering.
Gonna back you up here. Not knowing anything about your specific situation, there’s nothing cool about the human element of layoffs. It is real in the private sector as well even when it is the right business decision there are human beings with family. on the end of it.

I appreciate that.

There are a lot of good federal workers that work hard. I work with a lot of them. I’ve been trying to get in for 10 years and was finally able to do so last year. I work my ass off doing my job and my previous supervisors job. He left 3 months after I started and that position hasn’t been hired yet.

I’m fully aware there are bad apples. And those should be dealt with. But taking a hatchet approach to cutting positions when a scalpel would work better by trimming fat and keeping the good ones is frustrating.

I think it depends on the particular federal agency. Most need a hatchet, and a few a scalpel.

I am too. And I don’t work for DEI or any of the ones in the current crosshairs. But that doesn’t mean I’m not worried about my job.
I spent 40 years working for the Fed. I was around for some of Nixon's,Carters and Reagan's reductions in force and some limited initiatives by other administrations. Clinton's reduction in force and buyouts was the biggest I went through, but the worst thing he did is pull the qualified immunity of agencies he and idiot Al had a beef with and I had to purchase liability insurance for the rest of his term until Bush restored it when he got in office.
Going through things like this is just the price you pay for working for the Executive Branch of Government. The President has a lot of leeway in dealing with personnel in the Executive Branch, but there are still protections that exist.

First, let me say on a personal level that I am hoping for the best when it comes to your career. You are correct that there are many federal and state workers that do their best to help pull the wagon and I don't think anyone wishes hardship on those workers. Having said that, it's not uncommon for good people in the private sector to go thru scares every few yrs or so and small business owners like myself have to make tough decisions more than we'd like. It's just the reality of private sector economics so while I hope for the best for you and yours, I also understand that a cut in your dept may be warranted.

Regardless of what happens, I'm sure you'll land on your feet if you are a go getter as it appears. However, you did decide to pursue a career with a wildly bloated and out of control entity. It's not your fault the fed gov has been allowed expand virtually unchecked but a lot of the fed gov spending needs to be dramatically reduced and depts that have outlived their purpose need to be closed and or consolidated.

Again, I hope your job is safe but I hope you do understand why so many of us you have decided are ignorant because Faux News aren't shedding tears regarding government layoffs. Hell, I'd imagine most of those affected will be walking away with pensions and severance packages and that's better than the guy working at Mohawk that is just given the contact information to the unemployment office.

To be clear. I doubt anyone here wants you to lose your job. I hope it works out. Maybe they value the fact that you work hard and it shows. Then reward you for it. That is the way it should work if they are evaluating all participating government employees. Sounds like you deserve a raise for doing two people’s job. The fact the you can do two people’s job is probably part of the problem. The whole point of this is to get rid of folks taking advantage of the situation. Which obviously you are not.
