I’ve been perplexed on our ILB play. Coming into the season, I assumed they would be the Alphas that not only led our team, but also erased a lot of errors made my our DL.
However, after 5 games, I am seeing:
1. Consistently shooting gaps only to get stoned to complete ineffectiveness on the play
2. Getting caught pausing a beat too long before reacting and either getting caught by an OL or outrun to the spot by the offensive player
What’s going on? Are we running a different defense that calls for staying put for longer before reacting? I know for the most part our DL aren’t disruptive enough to create consistent gaps to shoot, so what do we do? I definitely don’t think it’s a talent issue. Should we have our ILB alignment a smidge wider to help get to the edges?
@brollinspff are you seeing anything consistent on FDL reviews?
@AgrayDAWG @HacksawDawg you fellas seem to be keen on insights like this. What say you?
