We've been praying for you big guy. Hate what you had to go...

through. We hope all goes well, going forward.

Thanks Eub. It was worse than expected....Ended up removing my...

Appendix. A mass had formed around my bladder and part of it had to be removed. An absyss the size of a plum and of course my colon were resected. It took three surgeons to eventually get it all. Doc said it's the worst case of diverticulitis he had ever seen. Told me he had no idea how I was going to work like that. I'm really sore.

Glad to see you back. sir. Good luck in recovery.

Wow! You've really been through it. Hope that will take care of...

it and you won't have any more problems.

I had a case of diverticulitis back in 2001, but nothing came of it (all of my colonoscopies have been good). I did have to wear a catheter for 18 days after my radical prostatectomy in 2005 and that was very uncomfortable.

I won't lie to ya'...it has been very trying around here. Still have a ...

road to hoe, but at least I'm on the recovery side.

So glad you don't have to wear a colostomy bag. June's nephew's...

wife had to wear one for 8 months last year after having surgery for colon cancer.

No fun but you'll get better soon...

Had 50 lymph nodes removed from my abdomen and had to have a catheter for a few days. Pretty damn convenient but not much fun. Was fearing the removal but wasn't as bad as I thought. KINDa like ripping a band aid off. No pain but not a feeling you've had before!

Best piss ever after...so there's that. Get well soon RRTD!

Hang in there. You'll be fine. Down the road apiece, this will...

be a distant memory to you...a bleep on the radar.

Welcome back on board, Dawg.

Duckiehook said you were having a time of it. Please remind me to tell you a story of my little bro's colostomy bag when you completely recover.

Hey man, sorry to hear it was was worse than you thought, but very

glad you got this done so the Drs. could take care of it. You need a little muling.

My wife's ostemy is permanent. She has only about a third of her colon.

She does what they call "irrigation" every other day so she doesn't have to wear a large bag, just a small patch bag about 3" in diameter. She also has an remade bladder from part of her stomach and a part of her small intestine and uses her appedix as the valve through which she uses a catheter to urinate. That comes out about where her belly button was. She is a medical miracle in my opinion She also has an artificial left hip and right knee.

Wow roga! Your wife is a medical miracle. She has to be...

quite the trooper. God bless her, and you too.

Well.. you're on the mend now! Wife's surgery very similar & biggest

hurdle was first BM which takes a few days plus it was a couple of months before she was "normal" again. Your gut has to first "wake up" from the anesthesia as well as heal from the resection so don't rush anything. It takes time. Extra large package of Colace is in the making too. Guess you'll be in the hospital a few days so make certain you're on a pain pump which was Mrs Hormones new bestest friend. She physically threatened the Doc with an ass-shoopin when they finally took it away after 5 days. You'll be amazed at how much better you're going to feel in 6 weeks and maybe didn't realize how sick you really were or how poisoned your system was. It's all gravy now. All the best & God's Speed.
