You need to listen and watch your parties actions. They are leading the push for sexualization of children through, gender altering surgeries and treatment. They are also pushing for the education and act of grooming grade school children to accept advances from adults as normal and ok! It is one sick world. There is evil on both sides, but one side is actively pushing for these things to happen. I understand your hypothesis but feel there are very few facts that actually support it. By your theory, the loosening of sexual mores and laws will inevitably lead to the acceptance of pedophilia. If that is the case, why has the legal age of consent actually increased during the same time period that laws against sodomy were deemed unconstitutional? The current age of consent is between sixteen and eighteen years of age depending on the state and not long ago it was much lower in many of those states.
Equating voluntary sexual acts between consenting adults with the abuse of a minor is not something that is happening on the left, beyond a few very fringe groups such as NAMBLA (who I assume you were referencing and who most definitely does not have support from anyone in the Dem party or mainstream). It is much more those on the right who seem to have difficulty understanding the hard line between the two.
Regarding the topic of abortion, you know I have been and remain respectful of the beliefs of those who equate abortion at any stage with murder. Having said that, it is also fair to say that for you and the vast majority of those who share your views, your faith is what leads you to your views and those same views are not shared by the majority of the people in our country. I'm sure you disagree, but my belief is that the religious beliefs of anyone, particularly of a minority group, should not determine the legality of freedoms for all. If I'm wrong, how exactly are we that different that the non-christian extremist who run other countries?

The question that we are discussing here is how do the institutions in question work to protect their population of minors and how do they respond when something happens? You seem to be suggesting that pedophilia is being promoted by the institutions in question and that is just not the case when discussing school system. Are there sometimes systemic failures? Of course. But that in no way means that "the libs" are working to promote an environment of permissiveness regarding pedophilia. It just isn't true.
As an aside, you posted a fantastic example of news and statistics being turned into propaganda. The Fox article references 181 cases on sex crimes in schools in the first half of this year. That is horrific and sounds like we have a growing problem. But there are some questions not asked or answered as part of the article.
- There are approximately 3.7 million K-12 teachers in this country. As such, what does the 181 cases represent? Is that more, less or the same as in the past as a percentage of the total population of teachers?
- How many of these cases can be attributed to the practice of allowing accused teachers to move on to other school systems (passing the trash) who then committed crimes? That is the kind of institutional failure that the Catholic church was so rightly criticised for but was prompted by an inclination to protect the institution at all costs, not by a lib-led loosening of sexual mores.
I think this hits the mark. Powerful men or those with a power lust have historically been horrific abusers esp if left unchecked. I don't care if you're a Dem, Pub, Catholic, Baptist preacher or Boy Scout leader, if you diddle kiddies the press should be on your tail and LE can shoot you in the head or hang you in the town square after a couple of months dating Big Bubba and the boys in the county lock up for all I care.
