a part of me doesn't give a damn because no one gave a damn when I was paying three bucks at a total of 70 bucks to fill up and the struggles that other had .

I will say it's nice not being beg for 10 bucks to help someone fill up their car ( even though 10 bucks didn't get you very much ) .

It's about time we have a dollar or two left after getting gas . While I hate people losing jobs but at the same time , I know people who lost jobs because gas was high and businesses made cuts .

It's about damn time people getting a break when they fill up .

Agree. Groceries need to come down since transportation has plummeted. Those guys that worked in the oil should shift gears and start reopening or building refineries that were shut down in the 80s now that the US is producing so much of its own.

All I seen are people asking for prayers and I don't recall a single post asking for a delivery driver that lost their job or for a independent truck driver.

I know this is a bit wrong but OPEC had everyone around the balls and finally we have shown we can sink the market . What I wish would happen is give tax breaks to the fracking companies.

It sounds like OPEC ready to talk to others , who not OPEC members and I hope some agreements are made to help everyone. 3 bucks is too damn much for gas .

It's not in the oil industry's interest to add refining capacity during periods of low oil prices. These are the times they want to limit production to help drive prices back up.

I get that . Why would OPEC want to have talks with others? I hope for a massive build up .

Oh I get that but the original question was about oil workers losing jobs and yes, I believe we could work on refineries for the future.

The tower of babel has a better chance of success compared to getting federal permits to re-open or start a new refinery.

Saudi and UAE have no intention of limiting production. 1, they both have $ billions in projects that they need to keep going, 2, they intend to try to bankrupt everyone else that is producin because it costs them so little per barrel.

Oh I agree actually. If the public put up enough of a demand, maybe. But it is not in the politicians best interests for refineries to be built. That would help the general public. Can't do that. Got to protect the big oil money makers so they can donate to campaigns. : )
