Calls to UGA, to coaches, etc. He'll get back to Athens with all of these things left to do right at the most critical point in recruiting. UGA is without doubt getting the short end of this deal. He couldn't live with himself if He didn't stay for Bama's kids, but He has no problem using Our DC to assist Him there.
I honestly don't trust the guy.
Also it was thought He'd leave Schumman in Athens to help here. He took Him back to Bama though, and HE is working for The Tide as well.

Does anybody know of another case where a coach completely ignores His new school like this ? All I've heard is how hard it is to split time between duties. It looks like Saban has solved that issue in Bama's favor.

Man Kirby is all up in your head. The Kirby booger is in your closet, under your bed. LOL! You have got Kirby issues and making a fool of yourself. It's still a free country today so have at it but understand not a damn thing you say or do is going to change anything. He is Georgia's coach and that is his lifelong dream. And frankly he doesn't give a damn about the weak, negative folks who loved maybe CMR more than the school or so it seems. And I doubt seriously if he cares one way or another about winning you over. Seriously Kirby Smart is a rare individual anymore. A young man with old school principals. He was raised by an old football coach/dad, born in old school Alabama, raised in old school Georgia and went to an old school program at Georgia. He makes a commitment and sticks to it just like he expects and demands from his players. And that is why the folks who matter at UGA selected him. He told them straight up and they know exactly what they are getting with Kirby. Those principals are hard for some people to grasp, obviously, but he is not changing and he never should. Hopefully some of what he has is rubbing off on his kids and players.

I read an article or two where he said he had decided to forgo sleep and family time so that he could dedicate time to both positions so he is working for UGA too. Also, there is probably a pile of money at stake for both he and Schuman in terms of incentives at Bama so winning out is a financial decision too. I think his staff is set - just coaching at other places like he is for the moment.

Old School Kirby seems to have no issue with Pruitt leaving His players to work alongside Old School at Bama while UGA goes short on coaches for our bowl.

Terry Saban has said Nick plans on recommending Kirby to replace him.
I see Kirby as being completely under Saban's thumb as of now.
I think there's a very good chance he'll take over for His massa if he comes calling.

In order to go back to Bama he'd have to kill it here. If that happens, I can live with it. That will mean he'll have put our program where we want it.

If he goes 9-3 and doesn't win the SEC every year... he won't be OFFERED the Bama job regardless of what Nick wants.

We don't know whose decision it was to leave, Saban may have told Him he was needed in Tuscaloosa, or Kirby might have told him he wasn't needed in Athens, therefore helping Bama.
It's a part of why I believe Saban has reamed Us as much as he could is this transition.
I don't see how anybody could look at the current situation and not conclude, Kirby, Saban and Pruitt haven't given UGA's needs anywhere close to fair consideration.

Why aren't you saying the same thing about Richt??? He isn't even coaching a bowl yet he has made only a couple of hires. Our staff is more filled out than his by far. I think you are continuing to beat a dead horse because you don't have any other arguments regarding Richt leaving and Kirby coming. He gave his word to the kids he would stay, kudos to him (unlike Pruitt who bailed on his kids to get out of town for his new job). He hired the most important position coach he needed and secured the QB recruit everyone said we needed to have. Him staying is no less than what Richt did when he was hired to come here. Did Richt leave when Bowden retired? So why do you think Kirby will be any different? Kirby wants to be UGA's Saban (his alma mater at that), why would he go back to Bama to constantly be compared to Saban??

Richt is now Miami's HC, I wish Him well but I don't concern Myself with the details of His staff.
I don't know of another coach who stayed for his old team's bowl without also spending time at lunch, evenings, off days, etc building His new program. Kirby says He is doing nothing but working toward the MSU game, it's all He's concerned about, again, His words.
Also, Richt made it clear the day He took The UGA job He planned on spending His entire career in Athens. I don't recall Kirby making a comment remotely like that.
