Just pretend you're down 10 to start the game

We start every game offensively with no sense of urgency. Yes, we'll take a shot or two downfield, but there is no question that our play calling looked different in the second half of the USC and Auburn games, than it did in the first. Last year we came out with our hair on fire against Oregon and USC and it wasn't just that the players were hyped up, but the offensive play calling was hyper aggressive. Monken wasn't trying to feel out their defenses, he was putting a blow torch to them. Maybe that's something you can't do with a new starter at QB, but Beck has now shown that he can handle that type of approach.
