is funny to me how it all can work.

Had we lost to Auburn, a very mediocre team, and beat Bama, we'd be in for sure. But, that means that losing by 3 to a better team hurts you more than losing to a mediocre team (granted, we'd have one extra good win, but still).

Again, I cannot fault the committee, because it was the most defensible decision.
