NC Republican Congressman sets the record straight

I especially hate it when Trump called Biden and Harris a "Literal Threat to Democracy". Just think if words from such a leader had encouraged actions from would-be assassins! But that would never be a factor, I'm sure. It's such a difficult concept to grasp, I probably just don't understand the (D)ifference, right?
Don’t try and overturn a presidential election and people might think twice about accusing you of being a threat to democracy.

87 people testified under oath, most of whom worked in the WH and none of whom are Dems.

I mean, I can call Trump a fascist, and who cares, I’m just some dude on a message board. But when someone like Mark Milley says it, shouldn’t that be taken seriously? When both of a former president’s SODs publicly state that their first hand experience serving under him has resulted in the conclusion that he isn’t fit to serve, is that not relevant? Are 40 of 44 former cabinet members who refuse to support him now just RINOs, or maybe, just maybe, the guy is a threat to democracy?

Deflection, Mr. Dup. You said it, not me. You said words from a leader can cause action...and now you're blaming Trump for his own assassination attempt(s).

Let’s see if I can put it in terms a rock can understand.

Trump was lying about the relief efforts. He knew he was lying and he did it for effect. Just like he was lying about migrants eating pets and knew he was lying. Just like he was lying about election fraud and knew he was lying.

Trump has been credibly accused of, and indicted for, attempting to overturn a free and fair election. So not only are accusations of Trump being a threat to democracy not lies, it’s an accusation supported by events we all witnessed, the sworn testimony of 87 witnesses and Trump’s own words on many occasions.

So again, if you don’t want to be accused of being a threat to democracy, don’t try and overturn an election.

Touche. Just saw that.

I will add that the reports are unconfirmed. If I were interested in continuing to push the disinformation narrative, I would definitely publish an article qualified by the fact that the disinformation is unconfirmed.

I stand by my guess that this is total bullshit. A “militia?” Who would use that word? Someone who wanted to make a headline that’s who. I will eat crow if this BS gets confirmed.

It is bullshit. Just a bunch of mentally inferior, lazy lefties trying to use the media to fuel a narrative that covers up the ineptness and corruption of the left’s leadership.

There absolutely are people that will rob you up in the mtns. I would not be driving a van full of supplies down the backroads after dark. In some areas, I wouldn’t ride around those roads during daylight. However, the term”militia” is a scare tactic used by the left to conjure up images of an organized, trained group with a single political goal. The people you would need to worry about are pissed at the poor response of fema and other individuals hoping to take advantage of the influx
Of resources. Even with the small bad element in the hills, it’s still wayyyy more safe than walking down a blue run city sidewalk. N

The media provides proof for nothing, other than confirming their own bias. A lot of people in the mtns are fiercely independent, and the left/media hate people that are not dependent on govt, and label them with names such as militia (they love this term because it double dips their attacks on the 2nd amendment).

If you want proof, don’t look to the media and certainly not the government

I agree and point out that the hyperbolic language of a leader might have directly led to two assassination attempts. Yet, when given the chance to at least agree in concept: you deflect and refuse to acknowledge the hyperbolic language was irresponsible, and then essentially blame Trump for almost being killed by two nut balls.

Got it. You're being hypocritical.

Sorry I’ve upset your fragile sensibilities. I would have expected more from a rock.

To the degree that the two assassins were politically aligned, they came more from the right than the left, and I’ve seen zero evidence that Dem rhetoric played any role in their efforts.

So what I think you are suggesting is that people should refrain from calling a person with a multi-count indictment for trying to overturn an election a threat to democracy, because that language might upset people. So Trump gets a free pass and we should simply debate policy and ignore the fact that he had a multi-part, multi-state plan to illegally stay in power after losing, accusations that are very well supported by evidence and testimony.

Sorry, tough shit. A reasonable person can read the latest filings on Trump’s efforts to overturn the election, look at the testimony, and conclude that he’s a threat to democracy. I understand that this is extremely inconvenient when you are supporting the guy for POTUS in an election less than a month away, but your discomfort doesn’t get to determine reality.

So, once again you have the chance to agree with yourself and say that irresponsible rhetoric from leaders can cause actions and you all-but justify the attempts on Trump's life. Hell, even Democrats in July called for a reduction in rhetoric (and then quickly forgot it).

The only thing I'm "upset" about is your clear hypocrisy on this matter. You can't even bring yourself to say that the Left's hyperbolic language towards Trump might have been a bit irresponsible.

But, I guess in your world, only Trump can be irresponsible with words.

You just refuse to engage in the substance of the matter.

Trump lied about hurricane relief, and the lies were design to stir up his base. When the lies were corrected, he doubled down. He did the same thing with election fraud. It's a pattern.

Trump is called a threat to democracy because of what we all witnessed and a multi-count indictment that was recommended by a grand jury based on the evidence presented. He continues to laud J6 and promise to pardon those convicted. These are not lies. These are facts, and I could take the rest of the day to list other, similar facts.

So instead of the same back and forth, how would you like to see national Dems address this issue? What would make you feel better about the dangerous rhetoric "on both sides"?

You are deflecting and defending those that literally attempted murder. I merely pointed out that yes, words from leaders have consequences. I point out words that were hyperbolic and arguably had an effect on two criminals (at least once quoted that same language) attempting to murder someone.

It blows my lava-brain that you cannot at least address or admit that the Democrat's attempt to demonize Trump is at least potentially just as bad as what you're claiming Trump's words did. You also appear to be disagreeing with yourself in an attempt to paint Trump as the only person responsible for everything...including other people's irresponsible rhetoric and attempts on his life.

You are literally being the meme.

Thank you Eddie from Acworth for the spot on summary:

Thank you. I love watching someone displaying logic destroy these lefties and expose their hypocrisy. These progressives are too dimwitted to understand that their lies, deflections and hypocrisy serves to undermine every point they try to make. I quit arguing before because arguing with stupid people gets you nowhere but it’s fun to watch someone point out the absurdity and comedy of their words.

You seem to be forgetting an important development in the situation you are referencing. I was wrong about an entirely different topic, and when presented with new evidence admitted I was dead wrong, none of which has anything to do with this discussion.

I remain curious, what’s language regarding Trump, J6 and the extremely detailed and well supported indictment for trying to overturn the election that y’all would feel comfortable with?

And I’d suggest that if someone like Mark Milley goes public with the accusation that Trump is a “fascist to the core”, that’s likely based on some rather extraordinary personal experience. It’s quite something how all these people who worked directly with Trump have transformed into flaming commies warning us about the threat of Trump.

Milley is a dipshit. Using him is your first mistake. But you backed Jack smith too. He has been so good at his job. There is motivation for his attacks on Trump. You know this. What milley did was nothing short of treason. All right here. If you don’t believe he committed treason, this is certainly a good reason for them to hate each other. Milley didn’t like trump, because as a military guy in charge he didn’t like trump disagreeing with him. It is just that simple. Using him as a baseline is disingenuous and like everything else you have posted in this thread. Hypocritical

This is the dipshit you are defending. This is what he did. You guys putting him on tv is a disgrace to the people he let die

He had issues with Biden/harris too. Maybe you should have this asshole look in the mirror.

Mr. Dup can't even bring himself to say that maybe...just maybe...painting a political opponent as literally Hitler might have been just a bit over the top and might have potentially led to people trying to shoot them.

But, sure. Trump complaining about the FEMA response is somehow "dangerous".

Holy-freaking-mackerel, the mental gymnastics at play here.

No. But milley is a dipshit. Above that will, I think it is easily proven that they don’t like each other for a reason. Good reasons. And using his opinion as a baseline for trump’s fitness for the office is just typical from the left. Something like lava said, you totally refuse to admit.

Trump is a dipshit too. But he is still the better choice. See how I can admit that. You ought to try it sometime. Actually admitting that some folks on the left are terrible. And wrong most of the time.

Now, Trump’s current running mate said in 2016 that he was concerned Trump was “America’s Hitler”, but that’s a GOP in-house issue, right?

Milley is one of a very, very long list, including too many republicans to name, who contend Trump isn’t fit for office. I mean, his former VP, his former Secretary of State, his former Chief of Staff, both former Secretaries of Defense, two former National Security Advisors, his former Director of National Intelligence, and I could go on. So many dipshits…

And these were all Trump hires! You can try and spin it all you want, that’s a brutal condemnation

I didn’t say the rest were dipsticks. of course you can’t admit it. The guy lead the Afghanistan pull out man. Jesus Christ will. You can’t say it. He also committed treason.

It isn’t easy to work for Trump. I think that has been hashed and rehashed here. It doesn’t surprise me people that worked for him and with him. Or were fired by him aren’t voting for Him. There are tons of Dems who have turned as well. Kamala ran off 92 percent of her staff.

The people the Dems have used in ads all have an ax to grind. Every single one of them. It is like everything you guys advertise. Disingenuous. Do you guys support anything that is real? You know she has basically taken on Trump policies to try to win. What does that tell you? You won’t answer. Because if it is negative you don’t give an inch ever. You have referenced credible sources and posting their articles and posts and using that to justify your opinions and stances. You cling to these and post them constantly even before other outlets follow suit. I point out just one of the times you ignored people’s concerns about Biden’s cognitive decline and how you ignored them because trusted/credible sources said it was not true. Yes, you finally admitted you were wrong. I don’t care whether you were wrong or whether I or anyone else was right. The issue is believing these supposed credible sources and ignoring all of the damning evidence that goes against their reporting. There is almost always truth on both sides these arguments or disagreements. Not to acknowledge that and act like you or anyone has the total truth is hypocritical.
The media is no longer a news source as they all try to push an agenda or narrative as they report the “news”. Not calling them out for it only helps undermine our country and helps continue the divisive rhetoric.
Sorry this was quickly typed out and I am sure not well thought out and conveyed like I would have hoped.

Maybe Stars and Stripes (one of the sources of the original story) is biased, but it isn't exactly a far-left rag, correct?

Here's another story from local news in TN. Again, maybe they have an agenda, maybe not, but they aren't the typical source for wild, left-wing lies.

But overall, I agree that nothing should be taken at face value until verified (as much as that is possible) through multiple sources. Fox News can tell us all about the cost of taking a different approach.

Or. He isn’t establishment. He has vowed to hire Elon to go thru the budget. Yes. He pisses a lot of people off. He isn’t always truthful. But you can’t just wipe this part of the issue away either.

You don’t get to go there. You guys came up with the term mostly peaceful for riots. For that you should just sit in the corner. You couldn’t identify violence if it smacked you in the face. Which is insanely hypocritical and hilarious to see at the same time. The fact that you believe that he would never let the office go means you are brainwashed. Nothing short of the election fraud folks. You are in the same category. It was a protest that got out of control. You should know exactly what that looks like. He conceded the day after.

He conceded the day after.
After his unsuccessful attempts in court to prove nonexistent fraud, Donald Trump pressured then-Vice President Mike Pence to unconstitutionally block the certification of electoral votes. When it became apparent that Pence would not comply with this pressure campaign, Trump's supporters managed only to delay the certification process, not stop it entirely, which was the nail in the coffin of the fake electors plot. Only then, on January 7th, over two months after the election, did Trump concede.

Glad you could clear that up for us. What a guy that Trump is.

Interesting that in the concession video that Trump released on the 7th, he opened by saying the following (words bolded by me):

"I would like to begin by addressing the heinous attack on the United States Capitol. Like all Americans, I am outraged by the violence, lawlessness and mayhem. I immediately deployed the National Guard and federal law enforcement to secure the building and expel the intruders. America is and must always be a nation of law and order.

The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy. To those who engaged in the acts of violence and destruction, you do not represent our country. And to those who broke the law, you will pay. We have just been through an intense election and emotions are high, but now tempers must be cooled and calm restored. We must get on with the business of America."

Damn, you go Trump! Not a tour, not a peaceful protest, not justified. Heinous attack, violence, lawlessness and mayhem, defiled, acts of violence and destruction, those who broke the law will pay! That's exactly what I was saying about the previous day's events at the time.

But then, something happened, and Trump has spent the last few years unabashedly praising J6, saying it was justified, praising those convicted and promising to pardon them.

Weird! What happened, Zinger? Why the change of heart? It's almost like you can't believe a word out of this guy's mouth.

Biden or Harris have literally called Trump “the ultimate evil”? You’ll need to hit me with a few specific quotes supporting that assertion.

I thought we were discussing the assertion made by Dems that Trump is a threat to democracy, which I’ve already acknowdged.
The official Biden-Harris HQ account made a post on X in December with the heading “Trump Parrots Hitler” featuring a series of images of Trump and Hitler’s faces juxtaposed with quotes from each, which the campaign alleged were similar.

Casually comparing the former president to history’s greatest monster...that's support enough for my assertion. I didn't mean they literally called him that. But, calling him "Hitler" is essentially the same. Comparisons to Hitler or other totalitarian dictators were being made as far back as during Trump’s first term.

“Adolf Hitler was elected chancellor of Germany. And he went about the business of discrediting institutions to the point that people bought into” it,” Clyburn said in an interview with NBC. “Nobody would have believed it now. But swastikas hung in churches throughout Germany. We had better be very careful.”

“This is the same type of propaganda that we heard in the 1920s and World War I against Jews,” he added.

In June of 2019, NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez drew widespread scorn for her careless language when she accused the Trump administration of running “concentration camps” on the US-Mexico border.

The far-left “Squad” member also used the term “never again” in her condemnation of the way illegal immigrants were being housed at the border, which is commonly associated with the Holocaust.

She later defended her use of the loaded language in a Q&A posted on politicsnowadays’ Instagram page.

”I don’t use those words lightly. I don’t use those words to just throw bombs,” she said. “I use the word because that’s what an administration that creates concentration camps is. A presidency that creates concentration camps is fascist and it’s very difficult to say that.”

Steve Scalise, (R-La.), who was himself a victim of a politically motivated shooting at a 2017 congressional softball game in DC, directly linked the shooting to “incendiary rhetoric” emanating from the political left against Trump.

“For weeks Democrat leaders have been fueling ludicrous hysteria that Donald Trump winning re-election would be the end of democracy in America,” the House Majority Leader said in a statement. “Clearly we’ve seen far left lunatics act on violent rhetoric in the past. This incendiary rhetoric must stop.”

Lava, what, exactly, did Harris say in your clip that isn't true?

Here are Trump's own words, on video, that she was referencing.

By the way, here's another clip from today of Trump referencing winning at "all levels of combat". Huh.

"Anyone who does not support him or bend to his will, an enemy of our country..." Her mischaracterization of his quotes and the message she is sending is exactly what you have said in this thread is something that can lead to action.

Please provide Trump's exact quote on that, which Harris bases the rest of her comments on. I'll wait.

PHOTOS: Antifa Call for Removal of President, Overthrow U.S. Government

Antifa and other left-wing groups gathered at Freedom Plaza in downtown Washington, DC, on Sunday carrying signs that reveal one message loud and clear: Remove racist President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence from office and overthrow the United States government.

Donald Trump Visits St. John’s Church, Vows to End the Rioting

President Donald Trump on Monday announced at the White House that he would act swiftly to end the widespread violence and looting in America’s major cities.

After his speech, the president walked to the historic St. John’s Episcopal Church outside the White House where rioters lit a damaging fire in the basement on Sunday.
My first and highest duty as president is to defend our great country and the American people,” Trump said during his speech. “I swore an oath to uphold the laws of our nation and that is exactly what I will do.”
As the president spoke, booms of flash grenades sounded outside the White House as law enforcement pushed protesters out of Lafayette Park.
Trump promised to end the riots with “immediate action” after three consecutive nights of rioting and looting in America’s major cities, but stopped short of invoking the Insurrection Act, allowing the president to send federal troops to quell violence.
“We will end it now,” Trump said, noting that he had urged Governors and mayors to deploy the National Guard to help them reduce the violence earlier Monday.

“If a city or a state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them,” he said.

After his speech, the president walked through Lafayette Park to the historic church that was closed and boarded up after the violence on Sunday. He stood for a few moments with members of his cabinet and White House staff.

The president also stood and held up a Bible in front of the church.

During his speech at the White House, Trump noted that the church was lit on fire in the basement and that the Lincoln Memorial and the World War II memorial were desecrated with graffiti in Washington, DC.

The president also pointed to a man in Dallas, Texas who was beaten by a mob and left for dead in the streets, and a woman attacked in Rochester, New York by “dangerous thugs.” He also mentioned the death of a black federal officer, Patrick Underwood, who was shot and killed in Oakland, California.
“These are not acts of peaceful protest. These are acts of domestic terror,” Trump said. ” The destruction of innocent life and the spilling of innocent blood is an offense to humanity and a crime against God.”

Pardon all non violent offenders will. We have been thru this. There are people being punished for that like they raped someone. Who did nothing but walk around. Two elderly folks got two years for going inside. I think you have gotten all the capital,no pun intended, that you can here. I know this is your only go to. You can’t stand on policy. Or anything that hasn’t turned to dogshit. You have 1-6. Or before you thought Biden was smooth brained. 6-6. June 6th
J6 has been priced in forever. If anything the left took some sting out of it by playing gotcha on everything else - the NYC fraud case, stormy daniels, etc all come to mind.

People who don’t hang on politics don’t give a shit. They care about groceries and rent. They would accept a Jan 6 every year if it allowed them to actually buy a house.

Trump is going to win. By maybe a lot.
