News should come out tomrow about staff

Has it occurred to anybody else that certain posters have claimed Kirby has had His full staff for weeks ?
Obviously that wasn't true and I'm betting He still hasn't hired all of His coaches.
He is going to be in a squeeze when he gets to Athens with under 2 weeks till signing day with a month's work left to just get His staff in order. Staff goes far beyond on-field coaches these days. Kirby said it's been a real struggle trying to put His staff together and game plan for Bama at the same time.

It's really tough to say exactly how much of his staff CKS has already assembled. While I do not believe the entire staff has been filled, I do believe Smart knows who his DC will be. I believe it's Mel Tucker and I also believe Saban knows. The other names thrown out, such as Beamer, I'll take a wait on see approach. The one name I do also believe could be a done deal is former Miami OC James Coley.

I've said it will be Tucker for 2 weeks now, My thread on it should be on page 2 or 3 now.
That is a long way from having a fully assembled staff though. I'm fairly sure He won't have everybody in place by signing day. When He gets back to Athens He'll have be spend most of His waking hours finishing the 2016 signing class. Right now We have just 14 players openly committed. He'll need about 1 player a day to fill the class.

I don't think we are in danger of having holes in our staff at NSD, that's a bit of an extreme reaction. While it's unlikely, it's entirely possible Smart announces his WR and RB coaches tomorrow, leaving just TE/DC/DB remaining. Ofcourse, most of the fan base is already accepting Mel Tucker as a lock for our DC. With that being said, you could realistically remove DB/DC from open slots on the staff. Doing so would leave just TE, WR and RB coaches. Ultimately we are looking at filling 3 coaching positions in about a month, and considering the Chaney/Pittman duo came out of left field and very quickly, it's still possible to field a full staff by NSD.

I won't be at all surprised if Kirby is still working on staff after signing day.
Unless He wraps it up while in Tuscaloosa, which seems unlikely, it needs to be on the back burner till after this class is signed. We have a long way to go to fill this class and Kirby will have little time to get it done.
Staff goes far beyond official coaches these days, He has more special assistants and other support personnel to hire than ''coaches''.

I just checked, as of 2013 Saban had 26 members of His ''support staff'' other than official coaches. Pruitt, Sherrer, Lupoi and other future coaches were once part of these shadow warriors for Bama. They recruit, game plan and most everything else coaches do.

I believe Schulman is being listed as a special assistant and if that's the case we should have room for Tucker/Lupoi(DC), Moorehead(WR), Seider(RB), Coley(TE) & Beamer(ST). Add the current staff of Smart(HC/ILB), Sherrer(OLB) Rocker(DL), Chaney(OC) & Pittman(OL) and this should give us 10 coaches in total and 9 position coaches if you don't count Kirby. I believe the math works.

Kirby has said Schumann will most likely be an official coach.

If that is the case then that would be one two many. We know we are most assuredly getting a DC and a WR coach. Then if we assume Coley is a done deal. Then in order to make the numbers work we would need to fill out our staff with one of the following two option:

Option #1: Seider as the RB's coach and divide the special teams up among the coaches.

OR

Option #2: Bring in Beamer as the ST/RB coach.

That being said I'm not even sure if Beamer has ever even coached RB's.

Beamer was the RBs coach at VT. We need him. He was a great recruiter at Sakerlina...signed Alshon Jeffrey, Marcus Lattimore, and Connor Shaw.

Good point

I'm convinced Beamer leaving Sakerlina for VT caused the Chikins' decline. OBS put Steve Spurrier Jr (the IRL version of Junior from Smokey and the Bandit) in charge of recruiting and they were starting walk-ons and FCS-quality players at most positions [snicker].

Thanks for the knowledge. That being said Beamer as RB/ST's coach works perfectly. I guess the only question now is who makes the most sense for our staff Beamer or Seider? It appears that this a decision that will have to be made.

Personally I like the thought of having a special teams coach but as for having a pure RB's coach I like Seider. Plus I hear he has quite the recruiting prowess. Is Beamer considered an elite recruiter?

Just saw where T. Simmons committed to Alabama. We need a receivers coach ASAP. We are running out of options at WR and with Simmons going to Alabama Robertson and Nixon both now become can't miss prospects and I'm not even sure if we lead for either right now. In fact with no WR coach I can't imagine that we are. Maybe we could try going after M. Calloway and maybe we could convenience Mecole to play some WR but other than that I'm just not sure what other options we have. I just can't understand for the life of me why we can't recruit WR's. It's like top WR's are allergic to UGA. Even the instate kids want go near us. This year alone we've already missed out on the top 4 instate receivers. Hindes Ward please!!!

We might have been TOO good at spreading the ball around under Richt. While QBs set records, We never had a receiver gain as much as 1000 yards in a season. As a team that only really matters in spots where You need a go to guy, in recruiting, top guys want top stats.
We have some young talent on roster that I think can develop into excellent players, Jason Stanley for one. Of course Godwin was a 5 star recruit, so it's not like We never get top talent. We do need to keep the numbers and quality up though.

You never know with recruiting. Hines Ward was recruited to UGA as a quarterback and played HB and QB before he became a receiver.

It's all good. Lol. I'm just curious as to the links and how credible it is. I'd like to see the staff set, especially with so many great hires being floated around.
@newagebulldawg Again with the links? Dude there are no links... He is just telling you what someone told him. You will be able to get a link if and when the deal is done. It would be nice if it were tomorrow but it takes time to work these things out and then other opportunities become available or someone changes their mind or a school makes a counter. The good news is that there are not a lot of rumors. This seems to indicate that CKS has learned well under that other coach.

As nothing more than an educated guess, I expect Coley and Beamer to be announced within the next week. I believe Coley will be hired as TE coach and Beamer as RB/ST. Again, we all seem to be locking in Mel Tucker as DC/DB so the lone position coach needed is WR coach. I really love our staff, if they all come.

Forgive me for wanting sources or links, but I'm 100% confident Radi or Dash would expect the same when news is continuously being mentioned by "a credible source". If I were to come on and post "Mel Tucker as DC", the first response would be asking for sources to back this story. It's the business, anyone can say anything so proof or a backing is necessary. Until I see reports indicating any of the rumors on any are true or possible, I don't believe them. No offense to anyone here but that's how it is.

As far as getting links when it's a done deal... hard to argue that simple logic. Lol.

Yea the buzz around him is crazy aprently it's real posibiltety

Dude, this a message board, not the associated press.

"Dude" I asked for links when a story was continously mentioned. Since then, they have backed off saying they don't know how true it was. End of story, ungrounded information was brought into the board and that's all fine and good. But when someone asks you what leads you to believe that, don't claim sources only to avoid providing them. It would be different if it were from someone doing it for a living like Dash or Radi. Regardless, that issue is resolved and it's all good. On to the next topic...

If you want confirmation that at least some of these reports are true go to Dawgs247. They just realeased a story confirming that both Beamer and Colely have been interviewed and that they are being highly considered for the assistant coaching positions. The report also states that coaching news should be released soon. So obviously the person who started this thread did have some pretty good inside info. This is the first actual report that I've heard regarding Beamer but there have already been at least two that I've known about regarding Colely(Dawgtreats/247 and Dawgnation/AJC). However this is a pay article so you must be an insider/member to access the article.

The person Who started this thread has insisted Kirby completed His coaching staff weeks ago. I'm not sure how You get from that assertion to this reality if You know what is going on.
What We know is Kirby interviewed Coley at The Marriott Yesterday and He's still working to finish His on-field coaching staff.
I'm sticking with My prediction He'll hire Tucker as His DC, but that is based on reasoning, not info.
