I’m not a climate change conspiracist by any means but people seem to think that global warming only means hotter weather. Climate change folks are saying that the warmer air is affecting the jet stream and that polar vortex is pushing colder air to places that normally do not get that cold.
I am more of a believer that most of our climate issues are cyclical but I’m sure some of what we are doing to our planet is having a negative effect.
But either way I do not think it is something we should be rioting over. And for the ones that are losing their minds over it In our country, it doesn’t matter what we do if China doesn’t make changes.

Carbon emissions get trapped in our atmosphere and warm the planet over time. We should cut carbon but not to the crazy extent we have been.
Even if we constrict our economy, no one else is doing that. The planet doesn’t know if emissions are from China or USA. So we need to cut while we grow.

I guess they were relevant in '58, after Life and the Evening Post. I know Newsweek had similar stories in the late 60's-70's, but this is the oldest story I have seen.
Bill Gates has just attempted to save the world by investing in a company (deep sky) that sucks out CO2 from the atmosphere and burying the captured CO2 in the earth,...it will be funded by corporations who want to donate to the mission, and for their donation they get tradable "carbon credit" plaques,.... Sort of like baseball cards with value
Bill Gates is probably hoping a revival of the HRC (human rights campaign)which is a Soros run organization with an ability to effect the credit score of corporations based on environmental sustainability (and not financials) when they need a loan or shop for an interest rate, particularly with the world bank, IMF, and others.
If HRC gains momentum that they once had before 2022,,then companies will donate vigorously to gain bill gates "carbon credits" in order to gain lower interest rates by having a low "environmental sustainability" credit score,...
But hopefully bill gates credit carbons will remain more worthless then my 1992 fleer baseball card set for that year,...because at least baseball cards have real stats on the back,.... whereas carbon credits have no proven statistics of effectiveness at all, despite however many industry experts collaborate

Human beings are part of the environment, so obviously our actions impact the environment. The problem with the climate change agenda is that it has been used to justify extraordinary measures, ie, government controls. The climate extremists are simply socialists who use “climate change” as a free pass to implement their socialist agenda.
Our dendroclimatological research in the late 70's showed California with several 100 year long droughts in the last 5000 years. That along with Ice Core studies from Greenland and Iceland show a definite climate cycle that occurs over time. Some of the conlusions from this research indicated that man could do little if anything to stop these trends. Liberal Politicians always rejected this because it would prevent the collection of carbon taxes.
We haven't seen heat like the 1930s, but that just gets buried because it doesn't support their agenda.
