Road W’s are NICE!!! And hard to come by. GREAT effort by the dawgs, and believe me when I say this game was won on effort because the actual basketball on the offensive side wasn’t beautiful. But main thing is the main thing. And the main thing is that W.

1st half
The game took forever due to tons of monitor reviews so it felt like 4 hours ago since the first half was played, but Somto Cyril was probably the difference in the game. He gets 7 points in the first half. He finished with 9 for the game in only 14 minutes. That’s production that’s a huge bonus for us. His play and the teams overall defense and rebounding got us an 8 point advantage at the break, and that would be what we end up winning by.

2nd half
For the game we only hit 3 three pointers, but man, Asa and Blue were both able to hit one that just felt like it changed the whole game our way. It’s was in the middle of an 11-0 run by us and it just felt like Ga Tech was not going to have the horses to come back after that. Solid play from Demary down the stretch. He is absolutely smoking from the free throw line right now. 26 out of 30 on the season (87%).

This feels like a Mike White team. Big, physical, and fast. Defense and rebound travel every night. You can really be consistent with those two things. Tonight also felt like a Mike White team on the offensive side of the ball. We had only two assists at half. We finished with 10 for the game. We scored a pretty solid 77 but it felt more bully than offense, which is fine. W’s are what are important.

Even though Leffew was 0 for 6 from the three point line, he still feels like our best option to get a bucket when needed out of our guards. He’s got a smoothness/creativity about him from all three levels that the others don’t seem to have but Demary and Lawrence are really nice going to the hoop. And you know Blue can get more than a few over time. White inserted Savo in the game in the first half, probably because the offense was really sputtering. Really wish he would have given him more run in the first three games at home and not throw him into the fire on the road like that.

Ga Tech looks pretty meh at best on the eyeball test. But it’s really hard to win on the road. And we felt like the better team from start to finish. Still undefeated with great room for improvement. Excitement should still be flowing. Go Dawgs!!!
