Nothing has really changed. The areas in question are the same crappy areas you wouldn't have visited 20 years ago. One night, Peachtree from downtown to Lenox was crazy, but that's generally it.

Other than inside 285, the ATL is good to go. Outside 285 also suxs for about 75 miles in all directions.

I live in Decatur and for the most part it’s only the angry man-hating lesbians I have seen protesting at the front of my neighborhood. Yes there are plenty of areas I would not go even fully armed with rifles and pistols. The black militia that was in Stone Mountain is about 6-7 miles from me, but no worries here. I do keep the firepower locked and loaded though.
