The Bear is one of my favorite shows. It is inarguably the best fictional show ever done about the restaurant business.
The show is essentially a giant love letter to Chicago and celebrates the food of the city. The Infatuation has become my go to food review site. Yelp is awful, TripAdvisor is tourist driven (note: as a retired TripAdvisor DE, my best advice is don't use TripAdvisor), Eater is also tourist driven. The Infatuation is written by local foodies. Nothing is perfect so they miss on occasion, but their hit rate is really high. For large cities, they constantly produce lists like "Best Bar with a View" or "Best Date Night". They just published a ranking of the best places that appear in The Bear. If you like the show and plan on going to Chicago it is a fun listing to look over.
My son just told me yesterday that Chiu Quon Bakery is amazing and the pork buns alone are worth catching the L to Chinatown.
