Says the man who dresses as a woman…

Matthew 7:12
In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law and the Prophets.

Iowa is in the process of removing trans people as a protected class, which means they can be fired, denied housing, denied service or otherwise discriminated against simply for being trans or suspected of being trans. This would make Iowa the first but certainly not the last state to pass such a statute.

This lawmaker's message addresses the hypocrisy of people who tout their Christian morals while discriminating against trans people rather effectively.

I was actually with you to some degree with your start. I think too many quote convenient scriptures to support a particular narrative. Often the “sins” that one abhors personally, that causes that person the most consternation, some quote from the Bible can be extracted to make their viewpoint sound justified. Personally, I don’t think a man dressing like a woman makes God’s Top Ten in any list. Is it a sin? Sin is between a person and God in my view. Everyone in that church has and is committing sin. My view is as long as your actions are not harming another person, then the Church doors are open. But that’s just me.

That being said, I would debate that being a “protected class” and being discriminated against are not mutually exclusive. Just because you are not in a non-protected class does not give society a right to target you. I am not in a protected class and I can still not be discriminated against legally. Cannot be unreasonably denied housing. I still have rights. So should any other in a “non-protected” class.

I think we, as society, often get discrimination and accommodation mixed up. Just because you have a personality that provides you a less common lifestyle or perspective, does not mean society has to accommodate it. It can’t. There are too many people with too many individual traits. If I’m a 6 foot white man, but genuinely see myself as a 5’2” Asian woman, is that what goes on my drivers license? If I rob a bank does the APB go out looking for a 5’2” Asian woman?

These issues are tearing up so much of our nation…and world right now that it’s sad. People should not be hated or targeted for their differences. That is something the law should provide for everyone. Still, for society to function there has to be some system of norms. That’s the balance we need to seek.

What other document do you live by? The Koran? They would instantly kill him/her. You gonna go with no document, and ride on the whims of the people? That’s a joke, look at the anti Teslas. Look at the healthcare exec murder. Mob rule.

Me, I more of a New Testament guy. The vestiges of, anyway
