So what do we all think of Hegseth and senior cabinet member using Signal app

Now Trump says he didnt sign the order to send those people back....after they bragged for multiple days about him signing the order.....and Biden blah blah blah.....this is a total shat show and anyone who denies it is in a cult

So far, the early response from the participants has not been convincing.

I think the question now becomes what is ok to discuss on that app and what isn’t. I don’t think they should be discussing anything like that on the app. But if they had already told others the strike was imminent, it is out there. They kept saying we are clear on opsec. And when a topic that isn’t ok is mentioned they go to a different place to talk about it. I think the two biggest things that need to be answered and clarified. What is considered ok to talk about in these apps. Quite sure if this app has been around for multiple admins stuff like this has been talked about. What is ok? What isn’t ok? Next. Find out how in the hell the guy got in the group. I figured that would be the easiest thing to figure out. I guess not. Makes sense though. That question being answered could lead to people being fired.

Bottom line - the whole thing was bad....and they should own up to it. "We phucked up. Glad terrorists are dead."

Goldberg's "receipts" don't change anything for me.....if Moose says there is a difference in the definition of "classified" or "war plans" triggered by the details released this morning versus what was in his article, I will feel differently. Until then, it was bad yesterday and it is still bad today. Goldberg's "I don't want to divulge security secrets in the interest of national security" explanation holds no water.....looks to me like he knew the broad description of what he was withholding would land harder than the actual texts which make no mention of people involved or locations.

Not nearly as "bad" as the democrats seem to want this to be. But admittedly bad. The gut reaction to Goldberg's "unveiling" this morning is so predictable. Had to be disappointing to those so gleefully looking for a "smoking gun" that somehow endangered Americans.

Count me in as someone who would prefer the execution of good defense policy (dead terrorists, deterrent activity, Americans safe, etc)...inclusive of admittedly sloppy communication.......................................to the perfectly communicated policy of abandoning Afghanistan, emboldening Iran, putting handcuffs on Israel, sending billions to Ukraine, and talking tough to Putin to prolong an unwinnable war. Lots of lives losts (including Americans), hostages taken (including Americans), and money burned.....but because a journalist wasn't on a text exchange, it is all good.

Why the hell was such a famously anti-Trump journalist added to the list? That's what I would like to know.....making no excuses for those who allowed that to happen.

Like I said.....glad terrorists are dead and the Hooties (not of the blowfish variety) might actually think twice about attacking our ships now.

It is a bad look. I agree. Have said numerous times they should just own the mistake and move on. Waltz did so above. Called it embarrassing. Then said it takes away from what was actually accomplished. He even owned it in front of Trump. The lefties or Trump haters want so bad to make this their gold star moment or their Benghazi. I love the faux outrage above. Don’t remember any of them being so angry when we got to create some gold star families due to a massive screw up. Then treated them like shit. It was a lucky break. Nothing bad happened. Learn from it and figure out how it happened at least. This doesn’t need to be trump’s we have no idea how the cocaine got in the White House moment. Specifically detail what happened, how it happened and how it will never happen again.

Weve entered the "normalizing lying under oath to congress" phase of this administration...gabbard using the "misremembered" excuse now...

The Dems are for sure going to miss this wide open goal though...no faith in them taking this and making it a case against the current admin for being reckless with information.

Here is the entire thread.

How can anyone argue that Gabbard and Ratliff didn't perjure themselves yesterday?

Well, they didn’t perjure themselves, because they constantly said “I do not recall“ about every single freaking question. Clearly, Trump’s cabinet has memory issues. Somebody get them some ginkgo biloba.

By the way, I thought Tulsi Gabbard was supposed to be this heavily “anti-deep state” person, and here she is leading the Director of national intelligence, refusing to answer congressional questions.

So much for transparency, draining the swamp, and anti-deep state.

So, so transparent. Clown show

Just in case anyone needs a guide to the relevant classification parameters.

Of course, the information was classified. Did you see Tulsi Gabbard’s answers? She got all “lawyery” and said that she referred to someone else about whether or not they were classified. She was working really hard to not commit perjury.

And the guy next to her “did not recall” anything from a week earlier. Cowards and liars.

Be who you are! Own what you do! I can tolerate crazy, as long as you are consistently crazy. But don’t claim that you were engaging in a campaign to bring transparency, and take down the “deep state“ and then lie under oath about your actions.

Imagine that your son, daughter, parent or spouse was flying one of these American fighter jets, with Hegseth texting their exact launch times and jet details in real time— to a group chat that has been intercepted.
Yeah, but do other four star generals do push with the entry level troops??????

My favorite part of this whole thing, is that the clown who now leads our department of defense, The former talk show host, literally said “we are clear on OPSEC” while he is unknowingly texting war plans with weapons, strike times to a freaking journalist!

Lolololololololololol

Oh yeah! So clear on OPSEC!

I posted this during the confirmation, hearing having somebody as incompetent as Pete in this role is going to get American men and women killed.

Hegseth is an unqualified idiot, Ratliff potentially perjured himself and Gabbard definitely perjured herself.

This is the entirely expected bad outcomes you get when you hire based on ideological fealty instead of based on experience and qualifications.

It is a bad look for sure. No way around it. I do like the fact that Trump sat down with reporters and answered questions about it. That was a breath of fresh air. We know Joe didn’t take questions or answer for anything that happened under his watch. That is one positive I will take from it. And what was actually accomplished saved some lives going forward. That has been forgotten. They were lucky things turned out well. It could have been a complete disaster had anyone died due to the breech. If I were Trump it would be hard to keep my cool on these guys, this would have been a nice moment for him.

Here is Gabbard being called out for retweeting direct Russian propaganda and her defense is that it was her personal account. This is the f-ing Director of National Intelligence!!!

This is utter insanity.

Ratliff was very cagey with the use of "I do not recall", but Gabbard wasn't. This is perjury.

From yesterday's testimony.

Technically she ran for president as a Democrat in 2020. She has been a pub for about a year. She learned from the best at perjuring herself.

She never should have been nominated and she never should have been confirmed for such an important role. She has no relevant qualifications and she has been a mouthpiece for Russian propaganda for years.

Trump’s DNI clearly perjured herself yesterday and stated today that she will continue to promote Russian propaganda on her personal account given her rights under the 1st amendment.

But she was a Dem in the past, so, you know…

Well. She out did Kamala for votes to be nominated for the highest office in the land. She was a better and smarter candidate than your most recent vp. So you are pissed tulsi is in this position, but so happy Kamala stabbed Joe in the back and got your presidential nomination. Tulsi ended Kamala’s run by outsmarting her. More qualified than your presidential candidate, yet not qualified for this. Got it.

Zinger, take a step back and maybe a deep breath and try to stay on topic.

Do you think Gabbard perjured herself yesterday?

Do you think it’s appropriate that the head of our national intelligence efforts defends personally promoting Russian propaganda as a 1st amendment right?

Comment now that the texts have been released? You seemed confident to the point of belligerence yesterday.

So far, the early response from the participants has not been convincing.

Belligerence? I thought I was pretty friendly ;)

It appears my confidence was well-placed. Where's the classified information? Where did the F-18s launch from? How many were there? Who was the target? What was his "Known Location"? What are the earlier "Trigger Based" targets? That information was undoubtedly in the actual attack plan, which this obviously was not.

Goldberg being in the Chat is bad. But let’s recall that Goldberg initially claimed there was a “war plan” that contained “precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.”

That was a lie. What he’s actually released (something he could have shared from the start) is not a “war plan", which is why the Atlantic has quickly shifted to calling it an "Attack Plan". There are no names, no specific targets or locations, and no coordinates. It basically just says some F-18s will strike a terrorist somewhere today.

So, to repeat myself and remind you that what I said yesterday still stands:

1. White House counsel approved the use of Signal for non-classified discussions.
2. The phones the principals used had Signal pre-loaded when issued to them.
3. The Biden Administration used Signal in the exact same way.
4. The conversations Goldberg shared in his Atlantic piece were not classified.
5. Those same conversations discussed how to share classified information separately on classified IT system.
6. Literally the only proof we have that any classified discussions occurred is Goldberg's assertion that the parts of the conversation he withheld from the article were "conceivably" classified.
7. Goldberg is a highly unreliable narrator who has created or participated in multiple wildly inaccurate anti-Trump hoaxes.

No. I am not defending what she did. Just not unprecedented. What happened with Brennan under Avril’s watch was horrendous as well. The fake letters about the laptop. It is politics. No reprocussions at all despite what happened there.

If I am being honest, I don’t think any of trump’s cabinet members are ready for what they will be facing. Their competency in the long run will be just fine. But their lives as they knew them are over. Same with Elon. Who isnt in his cabinet.

They will be under a media microscope like never before. There is so much desperation out there you can’t be what you were before. Tulsi hasn’t realized this yet. I think some of these nominees are going to have to recognize this more than anything else. Most are very smart people. I think in the end she will be just fine. The political theater is something else. At least it will be entertaining. You guys never questioned anything over the last four years. Till it slapped you in the face. It is popcorn ready type stuff to see all the anger for the same things that have been happening for years. Like lite said above. Welcome to the party.

You don’t want to comment on the post because the it is hard for you to admit you were all in on Kamala, yet she was woefully under qualified to be president. Or vp for that matter. Yet now so worried about tulsi. Who mopped the floor with Kamala when she was a Democrat

Time of attack and weapons systems clearly make this communication S or TS. Parsing “war plan” versus “attack plan” is a losing argument. Even Gabbard isn’t still trying to argue otherwise at this point.

Kamala Harris literally has nothing to do with this situation, and trying to use her performance versus Gabbard in 2020 to deflect is perhaps the worst example of your use of whataboutism yet.

Harris didn’t create the Signal thread and add a reporter to it. That was Waltz.

Harris didn’t blast sensitive plans out to a large group on a commercial app. That was Hegseth.

Harris didn’t lie to Congress under oath regarding the content of the Signal thread. That was Gabbard.

Harris didn’t nominate these unqualified people and she didn’t confirm them. That was Trump and the GOP.

"Clearly"? Those screen shots are partial. Did you download the document he got them from? It's from 2012. Where's the context? What is it in reference to? If it's so clear that it's classified and a Classification Guide clearly applies...there would be no argument. How about we wait until someone else other than some rando on X sharing heavily-cropped screenshots authoratatively declares the information "Classified". He even said "I'm not an expert on military-speak"

It isn’t a deflection. Just a comment on how you view someone’s competency. If they are a Democrat. Competent. No questions asked. Even for President. Republican. I am sure you would question the waste management’s czar qualifications. Booty juice wasn’t qualified at all either. Barely anything was said about him. It is trump’s cabinet. They screwed up here. Ok. So you are mad now tiv. You weren’t upset about what happened then. Why do we listen to a hypocrite. The president sat down and answered questions from reporters about the incident. Please let me know if you had seen that over the last four years. No you hadn’t. What happened was very unfortunate. And maybe necessary to clean up protocols that could have made a much bigger mess. And if you are pissed about politicians side stepping questions, what rock have you been under.

I read that Trump ripped them new arseholes. He should do more than that and fire these clowns. There are plenty of competent conservatives he could hire, no need for this incompetence.

When did he take questions, this morning?

He was asked about it yesterday afternoon and lied and said he didn’t know anything about it.

Cabinet members are not politicians, they are supposed to be operators.

I don’t ever want to hear one more nonsense claim about draining swamps and “deep state” (whatever the hell that is suppose to be) because this chick is a straight up fool and will need a Trump pardon to avoid this federal perjury charge.

The fact trump stated he knew nothing about it WELL after lunch yesterday is a huge concern. He's either lying, incompetent or both.

Finally have something to focus on?

The economy is faltering. Turns out tariffs aren’t magical money machines.
War continues in Ukraine while Putin makes a mockery of our efforts to broker a deal.
War continues in Gaza.
Medical research is being gutted.
Foreign aid is already gutted.
We are openly threatening Canada and Denmark and have trashed our traditional foreign allies.
Trump is personally enriching himself by pumping his crypto coin from the Oval Office.

Dude, this absurd intelligence screwup is only the latest in a very long list of issues to “focus on”.

Edit: I was remiss to not include Trump’s efforts to end due process as he sends people, some of them here legally, to outsourced concentration camps in El Salvador.

I wish that were true tiv. I wish they weren’t politicians. It is funny the one guy working for Trump who isn’t a politician and not in his cabinet is being attacked and taking the most shit.

Draining the swamp is what they are trying to do. You may not like the methods, but they have exposed government spending. He isn’t a normal politician. Never will be. Nor will the system ever totally be on the level as well. Because pub politicians are part of the problem too

Did you copy and paste that from msdnc? Careful taking those things as true. I don’t think you will ever learn. Most of these things you have spouted on about for years, turn out to be just flat wrong or lies. He wouldn’t have to use El Salvador if the dipstick you voted for had done his job. The economy was already f’ed. Thus your opinion’s 18 percent approval rating. I told you for 3 years it was f’ed. I was hearing it daily from every day people. Still hearing it. Working of trying to help someone dealing with your vote as we speak actually.
