When the season ended, it seemed like 90% of the posters on the Vent were opposed to Coley remaining on staff or wanting him replaced as the OC. Over the past week, his defenders/excusers have come out in force offering a plethora of reasons why Coley was not responsible for our odious offense.

Jake was hurt, we lost so many receivers, ineffective run blocking, it was Kirby dictating the offense, key players were thinking too much about the NFL, ad nauseum.

And people are now expecting us to have a dynamic offense next year. Coley hasn't suddenly become a top notch OC in the past few weeks. He had many shortcomings last year as well as at Miami. He has NEVER had a great year as an OC, so why should next year be any different?

I fear that we will waste another year and Jamie Newman while we wait for Kirby to realize that Coley is not the answer.
