If they land Atkinson to go with the Conroe LB from last year they are back stacked in the front 7. The bread and butter behind Kirby’s SEC dynasty.

I know its early but how will stuff change with the settlement can we pony up late to these recruits NIL wise ?

Gotta dethrone the Kang Horn: Definitely will finish with a top 5 type class. We have gotten to the point where it’s these battles over the handful of elite players that make the difference down the line in those overtime SECCG kind of games against elite teams. So these are the battles we need to start winning if we are looking to move from semifinal type ceiling to hardware. Especially against what is quickly becoming our conference rival.

I know this sounds completely spoiled but I’m not sure top 5 is good enough (consistently) with respect to where we want to be.
Just going back to 2022 (I can go back further and look later) UGA was either 1 or 2 in every class up until now. I think they are currently 2nd behind USC. That’s according to 24/7.
One difference now, and it’s a big one, is the portal but Sark hasn’t been as aggressive (though still very good) than other teams. Probably because he hasn’t needed to be.
Anyway I’ve started to think even since the last couple of years that we need to start landing in the top 3. I know that’s not far off from top 5 but it seems to make a difference. At least in the UGA example. How much of a difference? Who knows. Maybe it’s not much at all. But Ohio St, UGA, and Bama are all teams you see in the top 3 over and over. We need to be there in my opinion.

(This comment is pretty amazing. We've had great QB play for three straight seasons (2021-2023). Pretty good from 2017-2020. Last year was by far the worst and we still beat them twice.)

Pointing out the reality of what he does every year is not sticking yore head in the sand. I am honestly shocked by how many are panicking.
Some perspective: back when Sark was at Bama their recruiting always seemed like it was heading for disaster in the middle of the summer. Because they’d been successful in recruiting our backyard, I kept hoping that would hold up. Literally every single year, they cleaned up when it mattered.
Now Sark is here. Now we recruit that way.

Texas currently has the best roster top to bottom in CFB!!
If they sign the players mentioned above, Texas will still have the top roster in CFB going into 2026 season.
