It’s against FDNY policy to make overt political statements while on duty. The entire issue is that they were on duty at the time they booed James and then started chanting Trump’s name.
It’s entirely reasonable that members of the civil service are not allowed to make political statements while on duty. The message from FDNY was “Go protest on your own time”.
I suspected this was the case, and it took two minutes and one google search to confirm it.
I wish people would understand how often they get played in this way. It happens on both sides and it destroys true discourse and the ability to compromise that we need to have an effective government.
Don’t think anyone would debate that. But there are things you pursue and things you don’t. Read the room and understand that letting things lie is the right thing to do. Both from a common sense standpoint and politically.

The evidence is also mounting that J6 hearing witnesses lied under oath. There is a reason blue collar workers are flocking to Trump. They feel he listens to them and allows them to speak.
The time when people can voice their displeasure at corrupt polls is when they are not on the clock, particularly when they are getting paid by a public that encompasses a wide range of political beliefs.
FDNY has a code of conduct regarding political expression while on duty. Those people were all on duty and clearly violated the code of conduct. The code of conduct is not voided by your or anyone else's opinions on this particular scenario. This isn't complicated.
Whether blue collar people are flocking to Trump or not is an open question, but has nothing to do with this situation.
The DA drew first blood by being overtly divisive and political. Code of conduct or not, don't be surprised when you experience the end result of taking what in theory should be an unbiased apolitical role and turning it into exactly that on steroids.
