I wonder if he told the guy that he“always felt that I was in the military” and had “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.”

you laugh , but raising 5 million for the veterans is not something you make fun of if you care about this country .
Kind of like the news saying that wanting vagrants and panhandle away from 5th Ave meant he hated vets. I am sure many vets don't like beggerseither and many who say they are vets are not. Heck Atlanta finds new and interesting ways to run them off around the aquarium. It's two different issues.

I don't equate that with him having respect for those with military service though. He's said too much the other way for me to view this as anything but a political stunt.
That's exactly what it was. A few of the military groups aren't happy. But as usual for Trump, it worked. And he had Huckabee and Santorum riding his coat tails. Looking silly, imo.
But I thought Fiorina was despicable as well trying to buy her way onto the main stage with a large donation to veterans. If you got it, give it, and from the heart, imo. Cruz said his PAC would give $$ as well to the vets for a one on one with Trump. Something, that's supposed to be separate, from the candidate.
The entire evening was a spectacle/show. Exactly what Trump wanted.
you must not have been listening , he constantly says that the veterans have been neglected and that he would reverse that trend .
He's also been comparing his prep school days to military service and saying that those who were captured by the enemy in war aren't worthy of being called a hero.
I'm glad he's said he'll increase spending on veterans. I'd love to read a policy where he talks about how much he'll spend, where he'll appropriate the funds and what other non-monetary changes he'd make to veterans affairs... but being Trump I'm sure he hasn't said anything beyond: "Oh, I'll fix that."
Kind of like his... "I'll get Mexico to pay for the wall.".

The problem the veterans are having with the government is the delays for treatment and the overall attitude of the personnel that work for the VA. If the VA was run like a business these problems could be solved. I think Mr. Trump will greatly improve these problems one way or another. He will not tolerate any foolishness concerning our veterans.
His worst day would Trump obamas best day. Pun intended.
I get you do not like him, I like that fact Washington insiders and the bought media fear him. To hell wit the dems and the rhino pubs that have been screwing us all these years and laughing all the way to the bank.
What has he said that would make you think he doesn't respect those who served in the military?
By imposing tariffs on all the cars being made in Mexico and entering the U.S. for one. He's already told Ford if they proceed with building another huge factory in Mexico he'll try to make it happen if elected. There are things that can be done. We just haven't had anyone with the resolve to do it.
