Was wondering where all the pre game response was after the terrorist attack…

Clay Travis is still upset at ESPN because they never gave him a show on SEC Network like Marty, McGee, Finebaum , McElroy, etc or hired on As SEC Nation host.

Clay Travis is anti-ESPN and pro-engagement farming his base.

They did the moment of silence and national anthem early. Like before each bands got to perform their pregame. If you look at the Marty Smith tweet Clay later quoted, it starts with 26 minutes on the game clock.

SECN had live pregame coverage from the Superdome before 4pm, I would assume ESPN did not. I was at the game so I had no idea what they were showing.

And guess what, even if the game is not postponed, the same thing happens because SECN has live pregame coverage and ESPN would not as they are covering the Rose Bowl.

Clay is a grifter. End of discussion.

Same. Watched all of it on SEC Network. By ESPN. It was great. Sorry some people didn’t know which channel it was on. Huge conspiracy…
Probably a vast majority of the viewing public were watching the game on ESPN. I didn’t think to turn it over to SECN to watch the national anthem, as that’s usually part of any main game telecast.

Nothing of importance was airing on espn for hrs leading up to the game. Elle Duncan was in a UGA jacket joking around w Tim Tebow in a light hearted interview well over 30 min leading up to the game. Nothing of importance was on.

ESPN DID have live coverage from the SD leading up to 4pm. Their excuse was that they missed ALL of the pregame unity (anthem, USA chants, Nd w the American flag etc that was pretty damn significant concerning the TERRORIST ATTACK) due to “timing issues.” Right. Cuz we needed to watch Tebow and Elle argue over who would win.

Most the country was watching on ESPN, not SECN. And they knew it. Big missed opportunity by a woke company, which is what Travis said.

“End of discussion “

Think the point is why wasn’t any of the pregame shown on ESPN (not SECN), when it was 1. Following a major national story 2. Not interrupting anything of great consequence on pre-game programming for that major station that most were tuning in to

It was odd, and plenty of people (non UGA and non Clay Travis) folks have commented as such.

Heck, some people didn’t give a darn about the game and were tuning in to ESPN just to see what the response was. Seemed odd to show none of it.

Exactly the point... But you know there are a few out there…

I agree with you on Clay, and I don’t know that it was some big conspiracy. But it was still bad production to not work at least some of that into the presentation even if they didn’t carry it live.

SEC Network had a live crew on the sideline broadcasting a pregame show. ESPN did not as they had a makeshift crew on the SportsCenter set. That is easily explained by the fact that the Rose Bowl sideline crew would have traditionally carried the broadcast through to the Sugar Bowl. ESPN did not have anyone on site aside from the commentators. Additionally, the pregame rituals began about 25 minutes before kick, which seemed quite early. Which is more likely, ESPN trying to push an agenda (while their other owned and operated channel broadcast everything), or that things got a little chaotic and they were trying to make it work on the fly considering the game was put on haphazardly?

Oh hey look! ESPN airing the entire anthem for this NFL game. Even had a whole hr long special programming leading up to this game.

Shocked they haven’t put it on the SECN

Explain to me like I’m five what “agenda” ESPN is “pushing” here? And do I have to have a tin foil hat on to understand it? The only agenda seems to be Clay Travis’s anti-ESPN agenda. Which is fine - his negative thoughts on ESPN are often warranted, but he’s reaching here.

You weren’t watching the game on ESPN when all of this happened. Something else was on espn at the time. All of the pregame stuff was being shown on SEC Network before the game began on ESPN beginning at 4.

Clay is a media personality who highlights the bullshit that ESPN injects into the sporting world.

Clay thought he'd be a shoe-in to be hired by ESPN into SEC cause his 2007 book Dixieland Delight about SEC....he's still mad

Wrong.

I had it on espn the whole time. There was NOTHING of importance leading up to if from 2pm on. It was Ellen the studio interviewing Tebow for a long part of it. All pregame stuff and they kept repeatedly going back to the super dome coverage during the whole 3pm hr.

In other words, plenty of time to show all relevant activities. They chose not to

Yeah I’m pretty sure they showed all the pregame festivities on skycast as well but then skycast messed up during the broadcast.

This all just seems so silly to get worked up over.
