Landing Pruitt was a pleasant and shocking surprise, so it's not totally out of the question We throw a fat wad of money at an established HC, but in all likelihood it's Kirby. I don't think there's a serious UGA fan who hasn't considered this for the past 5 years or more. For that reason it's almost certainly the case with Our leaders as well. Kirby is also extremely well known and respected by HS coaches and administrators in the state and region. Culturally and in recruiting he's as close to a plug and play as We could find.

I sincerely hope you are right. Let's just say you have a lot more confidence in our AD than me. I can't pont to a single great HC hire he has made. I agree that Pruitt was a pleasant surprise, albeit a short lived one. While McGarity wasn't responsible for recruiting him, it appears he will play a big role in running him off.

Good point, Pruitt really fell into Our laps and McGarity is likely kicking him to the floor for daring to have a pair.
I just hope Kirby wants him and is willing for fight to keep him. That combination might be the best in the game, IF they can work together.

Do you think anyone here gives a damn about your worthless opinion. College and pro football is littered with assistants who've become successful head coaches. Nick Saban was a defensive coach. Where would he be if nobody took a chance. Everyone is a gamble except for four or give coaches we aren't going to get.

You don't know a damn thing about what the AD at UGA is doing, and Bleacher Report doesn't have a clue who we are interviewing or hiring. They're a gossip rag. You also don't know a damn thing about Kirby Smart or what kind of coach he would be. Worry about your own crappy school. Nobody was singing Dabo's praises until this year, and you play in the worst conference in college football.

Rage feels like clarity at times.. You are turning your program over to a guy that does not even control the play calling on his own team. You just let the best QB in the country leave without ever having him and the best back in the country play one down together, and you divided your fan base for the next few years .. You couple with the irony that Richt is going to a University where he can walk across the street and get 5 five star players .. I'd be pissed as well..

Tearing him down? Alright, maybe didn't give him enough credit All I've said is he's "unproven" to step right into this gig. Not saying he can't. According to Bleacher Report, he is our only target. We fired a proven coach to take a chance on an assistant. Wow! I don't have a problem replacing Richt. However, Mcgarity should have higher targets than Kirby Smart. I don't get the love fest. Yet
