Why is there such a huge divide in NFL/ CFB viewership?

Heard it mentioned yesterday that 117 million people watched the Super Bowl. 22 million watched the CFP Championship. I understand that gambling and fantasy have something to do with the NFL popularity, but that seems like a lot of football fans that college football is missing out on.

I wonder why?
