James Franklin

I don’t know if there is a coach like him. He’ll win the games against inferior competition but he’s still winless against teams that are favored. He loses the B10 championship vs Oregon. Gets the easiest 2 rounds of the CFP and beats those teams as he should. But then he once again craps the bed vs a team that was favored in the semis. It must be torture being a Penn St fan, because are you going to fire a guy that wins 10 games every year, and yet is going to lose every big game? Franklin isn’t overrated because he is what he is. He’s a good ball coach. He’s just not great. The CFP really showcased what Penn St really is.

Abson can be the answer to many of our problems at the high post.

1) he has the ability to put the ball on the floor a couple dribbles and draw the D, make a short jumper, or floater ( the one last night was really nice). His 3pt shot looks like he could make one now and then.
2) he sets solid screens
3) he sees the floor as well as anyone on our team and almost always makes the right pass
4) he plays with a lot of poise
5) his ft stroke is better than Somto and at least as good as RJ.
6) he is a good shotblocker

Questions - can he guard a PF, will he contribute more if he plays more? Answers - probably many of them and why wouldn't he.
