Some things

- Said early yesterday that UGA is in deep for the Branch bros… and that Az St is probably biggest competition. I still feel that way. Knew behind the scenes Dilly is trying to build a USC to ASU pipeline… well as of now, I’m thinking Duce Robinson is going to end up at FSU… that’s nothing of importance for UGA directly, but it tells me that the USC to ASU pipeline might not be as happening of a thing as I felt earlier in the week… also Zach and Duce are pretty tight. Now they could still go from Athens to ASU this weekend before the dead period starts for portals.. but that’s no guarantee that they visit there. I don’t think is going down to the last day, think they want to figure it out sooner than later.. the longer it goes, the worse for UGA here. Expecting money discussions today, but they wouldn’t be coming if initial discussions spooked UGA.. like we knew quickly Singleton was wanting way more than market value and he never made it to campus 30 min away. They not cheap tho…

- still feel good on UGA for Dane Key. Always expected him to visit Nebraska, old WR coach is there. I respect their NIL, but they recently took a similar body at WR this week much like Ole Miss did. From everything I know, OM is spending more than Nebraska in portal and Key preference is to play in the SEC. Girlfriend being at UGA doesn’t hurt, but he fits the system perfectly.

- I think UGA needs multiple bodies at Safety.. will see what they get done but they are scouring the options there. I think QB decisions aren’t done and is pretty fluid daily on whether they want to bring in someone to compete with Gunner in the midst of playoff, or if they want to bring in a nice project / stand pat… tough decisions there.

- Team wise - this break has been the best thing in the world for the team.. they were dog tired and banged up. Vibes are good from an energy standpoint, feel best about the health of the team that I’ve felt since before the season. Christen Miller is close to 100% and that’s huge. Earnest Greene is back healthy. Smael is moving around even better. Fairchild needed the time off too, he had been playing thru injury. Very interested to see this ND vs Indiana game in the bad weather… think snow should favor ND.

- After this first round of playoffs this weekend, the portal should get hot again…

NonDawg Postseason reading recommendations

I need some recommendations for reading this year. I am open to fiction, self-help, historical, etc. Just need it to be worth my time for it to make the list. Bonus points if it is available on Audible for me to listen on the road.

A couple suggestions from the past year if others want a recommendation and to give an idea of what I have enjoyed.

Fearless - Eric Blehm
Becoming a King - Morgan Snyder
Terminal List (full series) - Jack Carr
Atomic Habits - James Clear
The Perfect Pass - S.C. Gwynne
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck - Mark Manson

FWIW…long

I wanted to wait a couple of days before posting this

let me start off by saying it was absolutely devastating what happened in New Orleans early January 1. Prayers to the victims families.

I also want to say prayers for Kirby smart, and his family. From what I was told things went south very quickly with his father‘s health on January 1. It’s absolutely unbelievable to courage and integrity Kirby showed for his players to be on the sidelines for the sugar bowl.

This season has been one of the strangest I can ever remember. We had so many mistakes so many injuries yet we found a way to win the SEC championship. And that’s pretty damn remarkable, considering all that we had to overcome the schedule and all of the talent that we lost to the draft.

In my opinion, this team was nowhere near as talented as the last three. But it will go down as one of the most resilient teams of all time.

Beating number one Texas on the road was awesome. We dominated Clemson. We beat Auburn and Florida. We pretty much dominated Tennessee after a horrible start.
We beat Georgia Tech in an epic game and beat Texas again for the SEC championship!

I think we beat that Notre Dame team nine out of 10 times especially with a healthy Carson Beck. But those guys outplayed us by making less mistakes and deserved to win the Sugar bowl. I don’t think anybody’s gonna beat Ohio State this year in the playoffs unless something crazy happens.

This 2024 version of the Georgia Bulldogs was very hard and frustrating to watch, but I believe the season was a success.

Moving forward, I believe we have the best head coach in America and he will make the changes necessary to get us back to winning the national championship

I believe this to be true right now. And Lord knows I’ve been wrong a lot and things change very rapidly.

I believe Bobo will step down from OC and move to an analyst position. I believe that will be his call and I just believe he’s ready for a different chapter in life.
I believe we will have a new OL Coach next year as well. I also believe there’s gonna be a change in the secondary as far as coaching as well.

I think we’re gonna allocate more NIL money toward playmakers on offense moving forward

I also believe we’re gonna get some guys out of the portal maybe even a quarterback.
And this should not be a shock, but I believe the quarterback position is wide open. Between gunner , pug and perhaps a guy that we bring in from the portal

This could change, but I believe ETN will come back. And I believe we are gonna keep most of the guys that we want.

Also, I wanna give a shout out to @Radi Nabulsi and the staff here. You guys are the best group in the business. I know you get information that you sit on and you’ll have the upmost integrity!

I love this place. I have met some of my very best friends here. I hope everybody has a great year this year. And make no mistake Kirby Smart will keep Georgia at the top of college football as long as he’s coaching for us.

WATCH: NFL Scout Calls Carson Beck's Draft Decision 'Foolish'

Despite still having one more year of eligibility, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck declared for the NFL Draft on Saturday. That was also despite a rather up-and-down season for Beck, which has left many wondering where exactly his draft stock stands after entering this season with the expectation from many that he'd be one of the top signal-callers available in April.

Former ESPN Draft analyst Todd McShay is among those that feel Beck made the wrong decision foregoing his final year of eligibility. McShay even went on to reveal that one NFL scout told him when speaking about Beck that his decision was "foolish."

“Carson Beck made a bad decision to leave early. I texted a bunch of guys in the league, GMs, former GMs, scouts. One scout wrote back to me, one word answer — ‘foolish.’”
