Would Kirby coach longer if...

Assuming he is indeed on track to retire in the next 5-8 years...if The Kang had the NIL budget to compete with the top teams (yes I'm aware we are competitive now) and fill in vital needs would this keep him around longer? I am assuming that this would help in retention and make his job much easier. Also I understand certain players may not "fit the culture" but we have dealt with guys like this before (Pickens). Also think some guys if good enough, you get them on the team and figure the rest out later.

I'm aware any player who portals in has to fit the culture. However, money talks and this would obviously make us more competitive in the portal, with recruiting stud wideouts for example, and also at retaining currents players. Not sure if donors would play ball but you would think they would. Something that has been on my mind for several weeks. NIL clearly is frustrating for Kirby. The question certainly crossed my mind that Kirby could easily get to the point where he says "either give me the NIL support required or I'm gone."

Wanted to add this to original post so it wasn't lost in the thread.

Gotta believe Kirby has similar views...

Kirby was right

This is what complacency leads to. Go ahead and call me stupid. Common theme today. We are deficient in many areas, but the most glaring today was coaching. Maybe the game delay has a lot to do with it? One thing is certain: we have a lot of work to do this off season. Quote from announcer at the end of game “This is not as good as Georgia team we have seen in the past”

Watching the Hoop Dawgs last night, it was amazing to me...

how absolutely interminable the last few minutes of the game seemed! I'll admit I don't watch very much college hoops these days (or NBA), but good lord, it was like the refs had to review every single play for something, anything, who knows what. I swear the game clock hit 4 minutes at 9:00, and the game didn't end until after 9:30. Just so many fouls, especially by Kentucky, even when the game was clearly out of reach. Way too many unnecessary timeouts, and as I said, way, way too many reviews. I'm obviously super glad we got the win, but man, that was almost painful to sit through!
