When we recruited Brenton Cox, I thought he would be a star and a first round draft pick. When we recruited Nolan Smith, I feared he was overrated. He did not have as much explosive athleticism as Cox coming out of high school and I feared his frame not translate as well to the SEC. Jump ahead a few years and Cox is a dumpster fire and Nolan Smith is one of the best leaders on the Dawg team and one of the most technically sound players in college football. Character matters.
