You'd be surprised how conservative many parts of California really are. It's a mix just like everywhere.

Then take a stand and speak out against the man who you have ardently supported these last four years. The more we learn about Wednesday the more we see how much worse it could have been and DJT owns responsibility for what happened. He has promoted conspiracy theories (Dominion is going to sue the hell out of him) and lies and used them to call his supporters to action. He asked them to come to DC and sent them off to the Capitol looking to violently interrupt the completion of the election and they succeeded for a while.
I just watched video of a group at the Capitol chanting “Hang Mike Pence” while looking for him. Mike Pence, the lock step loyal supporter of DJT. Why, because Trump lied to them and said Pence could overturn the will of the people. Again, Wednesday was very, very close to being much worse than it was and we lost five people.
You want to tone down the rhetoric, then start to demonstrate loyalty to our country and denounce the man who is directly responsible for the horror we saw this week. Until that happens, expect more of the same but worse.
Well, California is the worlds 6th largest economy. I think they’d do just fine.

No question there are idiots on both sides. But here’s the difference. Let me lay out a scenario for you.
DJT wins a close election. After Biden has exhausted all legal recourse to contest the election, he continues to refuse to concede, promotes lies entirely unsubstantiated by facts and announces a rally in DC to stop the steal. He then pushes the crowd to march to the WH to “take back our country”. Plug in any of the rhetoric we heard come out of Trump’s mouth Wednesday but think of it coming for Biden. The President survives the attack but the WH is breached and five people die.
When we see anything even close to that then you can talk about both sides. Until then the comparison fails.
Exactly! Where was all of this sanctimony when this was happening. Was this not a threat to Democracy? Didn’t see any late night host almost in tears saying how can this be happening in our country. Nope this was widely acceptable to most on the left.

Haven’t they already arrested like 15 of them? I saw a pic of the guy who sat in Pelosi’s chair. They got him. The question will be whether the prosecutors go after them or ignore it like they did to many of the rioters over the summer. We’re any of the ppl who harassed Rand Paul and other members of Congress last summer arrested? Serious Q. Did DC wipe out bail like they’ve done in other blue areas?

Trump is the President, head of the Republican Party and in recent polling still had over 90% support from registered republicans. Comparing Waters to Trump does not not hold up at all.
Regarding James Hodgkinson, a body count comparison of right wing versus left wing extremists does not support your case. In fact, Director Wray has recently testified that right wing/white supremacist terrorism is by far our greatest domestic terror threat.
But again, there are deranged people on both sides and those people should be rejected by the mainstream. DJT IS the mainstream of the Republican Party and as such should be held to a higher standard, right?

I don't need a lecture from you. You have defended the violence burning of our cities, assaults and kiling of our police officers by antifa and BLM for several years. Have any of you leftists ever denounced them? I denounce all violence on both sides as do most repubs.
We can't agree on Trump causing the violence on Wed and I don't think discussing that will result in anything positive. You have too much hate toward the man to think logically.
As for Pence, there was a lot of evidence that was to be presented in the hearing on Wed. Pending overwhelming evidence of voter fraud , Pence had an option to send back to the state legislatures of said states to reconsider their vote on which electors to send. He decided he didn't want to do that. Most on our side knew it wouldn't change the result but at least people would hear the evidence.
It is not wise for someone to act like they wouldn't mind a civil war. That is why I reacted in my previous post. But the recent censorship of the right by social media and then to try to impeach trump a second time just for spite accomplishes nothing except increase hate on both sides to build. On top of that consider that many no longer believe in our election process, So if they are censored, their opinions are dismissed and they no longer have faith in our election process, I fear some will react violently feeling they have been backed into a corner,

I have renounced the violence many times from the left, and always follow it up by calling them a derogatory name. Antifa assholes, etc.

I’ll give him credit if he stops the nonsense and grandstanding, but he must do a lot more to earn my respect as a unifier.
I have never stated support of violence or looting and I have denounced it many times and in very clear language. It is telling that you assume anyone who opposes DJT is a revolutionary socialist who wants to see blood in the streets. That is no more true than to assume that the seditious mob that sacked the Capitol, chanted “Hang Mike Pence” and whose actions directly resulted in five deaths represents all of you who voted for Trump. Neither is true.
But the time is now to clarify positions. If you are horrified by what happened Wednesday then you can no longer support DJT. Either you are committed to the rule of law or not. Trump has eliminated any possible middle ground.

Obama literally told his followers to "Argue, get in their face", "if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. As Ferguson was boiling over after a police shooting that was eventually deemed justified by the O justice dept, he fanned the flames by calling the Ferguson PD oppressive and abusive. Every one of these statements could be deemed inciting unrest at a degree higher than anything Trump has said.
We have also seen Trump officials harassed while trying to eat dinner. Women trying to enter Trump rallies egged by Dem supporters. Highways leading to Trump rallies blocked by dem rioters and cities held hostage by armed revolutionaries that Dem governors refused to confront. All the while, Biden was slow to condemn that violence and his VP was making statements that the protest would continue and retweeting bail fund sites for violent offenders. I'm not counting on Biden or his justice dept doing anything to stop leftist goons from trying to intimidate their opponents.
i believe in the rule of law. Has anybody proved trump intended for the protesters to do what they did? Dems are acting like a violent mob who want to string Trump up. No trial just hate and violent rhetoric. Their friends in the media have lost all semblance of rationality and logic.
One thing that comes to my mind is the deep state is trying to make sure an outsider doesn't ever attempt to come into their playground again. Biden is certainly not helping having equated Hawley and Cruz to Goebles. Outlandish and crazy allegations.
