WSB-TV in Atlanta published projected primary results - on April 7th. They removed it yesterday when the page was pointed out by Garland Favorito's VoterGA. They said that the artificial results showed a distinct left wing bias. VoterGA found out that the results were produced for the local channel WSB-TV by the Associated Press.
Normally, media sources don't start projecting results until voting is completed, to avoid influencing voters. Congressional candidate Dominika Hawkins said she was "unfairly hurt in this process. When AP arbitrarily picks winners and losers before the election, it unduly influences voters and puts politics over people."
Is that anything like leaking a potential Supreme Court ruling to attempt to influence the justices?
Lancaster County, PA and Clackamas County, OR announced that they would not have mail in ballots counted on time due to a printing error (bad election codes). Two thirds of the Lancaster County mail in ballots are unreadable by tabulators, as are half of those in Clackamas County. Both counties will adjudicate the ballots to fix the problem, which is expected to take several days.
In case you aren't aware, Adjudication is where election workers start with a clean ballot and copy over your votes to the new ballot. This is supposed to be done with representatives present from all affected parties and the county government. The process doesn't always happen that way, and proper documentation is not always kept. Lancaster had a similar problem in the 2020 election. Both counties are expected to be crucial in deciding close statewide races.
Pennsylvania has also announced that mail in ballot canvassing will delay results, although some counties got everything done on election day by planning ahead. Delays in producing results invalidate a key control step in election management - securing all ballots before counting begins, and you don't stop counting until complete.
